How our students rated their experience in Biarritz
What our students said about Biarritz
Biarritz is a very beautiful Basque city whose traditions are recognizable. The coastline to the south exudes a certain charm with its steep slopes and the Côte des Basques is a great beach, but unfortunately only accessible for half a day. The Grande Plage is mainly used for tourist life, where it can get quite crowded in the high season. The weather is not so stable that Biarritz is the ideal place for sunbathing, but the waves there enable a unique surfing experience, which definitely makes up for a little wind or rain. The city is very well connected by buses and offers numerous restaurants.

Prime location. Since I took lessons in the low season, the groups were very small, which is an added value to taking language lessons!

I liked the atmosphere, almost family like. The school building and the yard look absolutely fantastic in the summer. I liked coffee/tea facilities. I liked the fact that the students can just easily talk to tutors, and the tutors were friendly and engaging. Teaching methods were good I thought.

Course: Standard French Course - 4 weeks
Student age: 55 years
The atmosphere in the school was friendly and relaxed. The professor was very competent, thoughtful and willing to listen to the students' interests, including the content. The lessons were demanding but not overwhelming. The school is located near the sea. I liked that very much. I was able to improve my French and my enjoyment of the language increased. I wasn't interested in any afternoon activities, but I assume that surfing, for example, was nice.

Course: Standard Programme - 1 week

The students and teachers were as friendly as their families. The break time and lunchtime were all spent on the terrace, which led to an improvement in French. It was great that all the teachers knew each and every one. And I liked it because I liked the well-balanced class matched to the students, as well as the grammar statements.
It was nice that there was surfing for the afternoon class. There are free coffee and tea, so it was a very satisfying school.

Course: Intensive French Course 26 - 9 weeks
Student age: 27 years
I would like, that the teachers should have programs for learning for 2, 3, 4 weeks.
I started with the subjunctive during the first week. I find that this is not the most important lesson. It would be fine to talk about everyday life, the school-system, the history or the habits, the conditions of this country to get used to the language and to learn important vocabulary you need everyday.
With the written and oral tests, the school should see what lessons are important for the pupils and so they could organize the class.

- I am 17 years old and would like to do a French course in the summer months, combined with host family accommodation. What do you recommend?“We work with several schools in Biarritz. Now, as a 17-year-old, you can often choose whether to participate in a youth programme or an adult programme. Will you let us know which you prefer and when you turn 18?

Send us a message with when you want to start.”Robin Rebecca Pietersma, LanguageCourse.Net - Jan 10, 2023I would like to book an intensive course of about 30 lessons per week and I would like to know if, once the course has started, I could change it to only 20 if I see that it is too heavy for me.“Making changes once the course has started is possible as long as the school has availability for the new course, but keep in mind that in most cases, schools do not make any refunds if the course has already started.”Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Dec 22, 2022I'm looking for French and golf lessons for a 16 year old boy in Biarritz during the summer. Which school do you recommend?“The Biarritz French Courses Institute offers French and golf courses. This is an adult programme, the minimum required age is 16 years. The average age during summer is: 18-25 years. The course includes 20 French group lessons per week in the mornings, and 3 golf lessons (2 hours each) per week in the afternoons.
