Super, only negative point: a lot of stray dogs, staying a little away from the center I was attacked (without biting) by one of them.

What school directors said about Cuzco

Marco Boyd

Cuzco is the historic gateway to Machu Picchu, and a must stop for all travelers wanting to learn about the culture of Peru.

Marco BoydDirector of Máximo Nivel, lives in Cuzco since 2017
Sandra Del Corral

Cuzco is a beautiful colonial city, very safe and full of history and culture. Wherever you walk you will find very interesting places to know, this is why this city is a World Heritage Site. In addition, its Machupicchu ruins are among the new 7 Wonders of the world.

Sandra Del CorralDirector of Delco Abroad, lives in Cuzco since 2000

Friendly teachers, good infrastructure, free dance and cooking lessons once a week, perfect location in the city centre. Cusceños/as also learn English at the school, which creates a very intercultural environment. The school therefore also offers a tandem exchange, which is very useful for practising conversation.

I had a great teacher. All the staff was trying to help with any questions all the time. I felt very comfortable. Also nice that you get free tea and coffee all day. It is just getting a bit too noisy from the classes in the afternoon.
I would definitely book Maximo again!

Amauta Spanish School

The opportunity to get to know the other students and to explore the area with them. And the teachers were positive and enthusiastic.
The collaboration with Dos Manos is, in my opinion, not of great value for Amauta.

The Spanish lessons were good. I really enjoyed the instructors and the methods they used for teaching.
Staying with Patricia is horrible. Students should try not to be placed in her home. While Patricia is kind and good hearted, staying with her is uncomfortable at best. No breakfast is served, not even coffee. The food she serves for dinner and lunch is usually rice and sauces with no fresh fruits or veg. Dinner was always late by at least an hour, and many times she didn't serve us until 9 pm. Also, her home is about a 45-minute bus ride from the school. If I were to return to Maximo, I would make sure to request a different accommodation.

The lessons, the organization
I have paid 4 weeks accommodation ... a week has 7 nights that would be 28 nights. However, only 27 nights were paid to my host family and I therefore had to move out a day earlier. My suggestion would be to indicate the accommodation reservation in days on the bill and not in weeks. This would dismiss any errors. I have paid the same amount for 7 nights as for 6 nights. So I want the 7th Day of my last week refunded.

Classes, teachers, the ability to shift course in the case of plans, sightseeing, small groups, free Internet access.
Very modest accommodations. The family rented rooms have five other people in most English-speaking, so instead of Spanish language daily was very often in English. No independent bathroom was a surprise to me. Actually it was more like a shared apartment, plus meals prepared by the family.

The teachers are approachable and friendly.
I loved my host family, and HIGHLY recommend them to future students. However, it was a large family, so I suggest the school should provide a list of names and pictures so the student can learn their names.
