What our students said about Milan

5.0

Rating: 5/5

It is recommended for sightseeing, but there are many problems when it comes to living in the city. The post office and other offices involved in the application for a residence permit were quite difficult to deal with.

Especially outside of the center, pleasantly peaceful and "untouristic" (at least at the end of July 2021), relaxed atmosphere, but also the possibility of celebrating an aperitivo, etc.

Certainly worth seeing, a mixture of the new and the ancient. Icecream shops too tempting though! Great for shopping if that's what one likes.

What school directors said about Milan

Milan is the place to be in Italy at the moment: the most active city, the most funny, the most open to different cultures. Milan is very well connected with all the cities in Italy and Europe. A very good place to be based.

Mariagrazia ArmatiDirector of Istituto Dante Alighieri, lives in Milan since 1970
Peter Luntz

Milan is elegance and sophistication. It is the main industrial, commercial and financial centre of Italy and a leading global city. Milan is a major world fashion and design capital and it is a magnetic point for designers, artists, photographers and models. Not to be missed are Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper, The Duomo Cathedral and Teatro alla Scala, but also the new skyscrapers areas of City Life and Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the world famous Bosco Vertical can be admired. Nowadays, Milan attracts talented students and business professionals from all over Italy and the world, to make it a real international city, with a strong Italian soul.

The school is very well organized. The language test at the beginning of the first day of school was carried out individually after completing a scheme, and I was then integrated into the right group. The teacher made the lessons varied and conveyed the subject matter very well. I felt very comfortable and would visit the school again at any time. Many thanks for the very friendly contact and the great help of the "languagecourse.net" staff. They processed my last-minute request quickly and professionally. Overall, I had a very nice week in Milan.

You could tell that the teachers knew the content well and that they prepared their lessons. They are flexible and they show interest for their students' progress. However, during the first 3 weeks there were quite a few new students and I had the feeling that we did not learn that much.
They should improve the organisation of the different levels so that new students don't slow everyone down.

Q&A - Questions and answers about Milan

  • The Centro Studi F.D. ELLCI is the school for you! There you will be prepared for university in 8 weeks and depending on your level, you will have 20 group lessons + 15 or 20 individual lessons per week. The course is offered under the title "Italian for University".
    Lisa Saskia Schiwy, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 27, 2023
  • July and August can be very hot in Milan. August is also when many shops close for the holidays, so I would recommend July if you want to experience a bit more of the city and its people.
    Lisa Saskia Schiwy, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 22, 2023
  • Academya Lingue offers special courses for 50+ students, so the average age in the standard course is automatically lower. I would, therefore, recommend this school.
    Lisa Saskia Schiwy, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 21, 2023

FAQ about schools in Milan

  • There are currently no schools offering a separate conversation course in Milan. However, they all have the option for a standard course. A standard course covers the different parts: reading, speaking, writing, grammar, etc. If you would like to focus extra on conversation, I recommend booking a standard course and adding some private lessons. During the private lessons, you can then specify exactly what your needs are.
Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 04, 2023
  • Yes, the school Linguadue proposes a programme of Italian + Internship. You need to have a B1 level in Italian to be eligible. You will find more information on the school's profile.
