Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Super lessons. Very competent and friendly teachers. The lessons are a bit demanding if you don't have any previous knowledge, but you can learn so much more in return.
Negative aspects
The school is a bit run-down, despite its top location. Most of the chairs have some kind of damage. The lighting in the toilets does not work or is inadequate. Both the bathrooms and the classrooms are very cramped.
City/place
Not a city for party people. But great for lying on the beach or hiking in nature all year round. Top public transport and an exceptionally safe city.
Quality of teaching / language progress
You should have some prior knowledge, despite the A1 beginners' course. This is not necessarily the fault of the teachers. Most participants (even in A1) have at least a solid basic understanding, but still take this course to learn the grammar properly, and the teachers adjust the level to the students' average level.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Arrange your own accommodation.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I was in a class of four. The teacher (f) I had most of the time seemed to find it very difficult to talk to me. Often she'd ask a question (for example: ¨what did you do yesterday?¨) to everyone but me. Sometimes other classmates also noticed.
Accommodation
Accommodation: the shower only gave hot water for 1 minute and had no extractors, making it very humid. My room was on a busy road, so you cannot sleep with the window open. Next time I will arrange accommodation myself. Meals were simple, but I found it very well arranged, it was always pleasant.

Other comments
The tour to see more of the island was canceled at the first stop due to a visit to the hospital by one of the participants. The organizers could not do anything about this situation, although it would have been good to give us all a full refund as the they cancelled the tour at a very early stage (only recovered half after inquiring).

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
They start a new course on the first Monday of each month. That is good to know if you want to start a course in the beginning of the course book. No information on the website as far as I know. They arrange excursions every Wednesday, but if you do not stay at their residence you will have to pay double price for the excursions.
Other comments
There was no written test before the course, just an oral interview. During the course the focus was on speaking, we did not get any training in writing such as letters, summary or argumentation. No listening comprehension or films (I was in B2).

The professionalism of the teacher and the quality of the people who formed the group of students with whom I had the pleasure of studying. I also liked that the school is small and the fact that the school offers excursions.

I put 3 stars for the equipment because the rooms are sometimes a little small and there is no library but these elements are not very important in my evaluation. It's the same thing for leisure activities.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
When I took the placement test, I asked the staff person to put me in the easier of two levels if I fall between two levels. She didn't. The students in my class were quite a bit more advanced than I. So if that's important to you, insist on it. I know I could have switched the second day, but it's awkward to do so and the staffer should have accommodated my request in the first place.
Other comments
My class of 13 was way too big. It's hard to recommend the school if that's their norm. Also there was zero mention of after class activities in class itself. I only found out about them by looking at a bulletin board on my last day.

The teachers, Anna and Carlos are wonderfully friendly and good! Anna is a very special teacher, absolutely outstanding in her teaching.
Other comments
The format of the book is a bit old-fashioned, one must first learn to introduce yourself with all nationalities, etc. As I took private lessons I had no use for it. Family composition with cousins, aunts, etc. come before learning to act, order and ask for directions which is more essential given that we are in a Spanish city. Apart from this the book was very good with good practical exercises.

Be aware of strict cancellation policies, just in case you are not entirely sure how long you are planning to stay, because you might not be refunded. Insider tips about what future students should not miss
One should have some knowledge of the language. I started a "beginners course " where everyone else already knew a lot so I fell behind straight away. Bring your dictionary, notebook and pen from the very first lesson. To get the full benefit of the lesson you should also know English because if you do not understand Spanish the words are explained in English.
Other comments
The school is OK, but the premises are small and hot.
