Location: Omeida Chinese Academy is located in the incredible and unique resort town of Yangshuo, in southern China's Guangxi region. A privately-run school, surrounded by karst mountains, rivers and breathtaking attractions, students have all they need with regards to restaurants, tea houses, banks and supermarkets close by, ensuring both a memorable and productive time whilst studying in Yangshuo.
Course selection: Course selection includes General Chinese Group classes, available to all levels, HSK Exam Preparation programmes and Standard courses in conjunction with classes in Calligraphy or Tai chi.
School facilities: The facilities of the school ensure that students have all they need to reach their language goals, whilst in a comfortable and motivational atmosphere. These facilities include a library, movie room, lounge area, computer lab, free after-class access to language learning software, a restaurant and a student support desk for any questions or queries. Further amenities such as free parking, WIFI and coffee are also courtesy of the school and are available to all students. Every classroom is equipped with heating, air conditioning and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.
Social and Cultural: The beautiful surroundings of Yangshuo offer a unique platform for students to further, or start, their journey of learning Chinese. Visits to extraordinary water caves, mountain hiking trails and trips down the Yulong River in bamboo rafts, are some of the most popular attractions in the region, with many more unique opportunities and activities readily available.

"The courses are very very normal. I repeat: they take advantage of the place, summer season and raise prices... They are young Chinese teachers with little experience in teaching with level groups organized by a person who is incompetent and does not like that the courses are changed. I understand that it is a difficult task but when there are mistakes they do not recognize them and are reluctant to change groups. And that should be tolerated and accepted, because you are going to learn! "

“Relatively small groups. Good and pleasant student atmosphere. The meeting point.”
“1.Very strict with the level groups (if you want to change level by your own decision, they are reluctant to change). 2. Very young teachers with little teaching experience. 3. Low level of English and cannot teach it. 4. The prices for individual teaching (one to one) are disproportionate, even expensive in Europe and outside China. They take advantage of the location and the city and surroundings which is very beautiful but the prices in summer are very high for the normal quality they offer...”

Details of the review
Quality of teaching / language progress: The courses are very very normal. I repeat: they take advantage of the place, summer season and raise prices... They are young Chinese teachers with little experience in teaching with level groups organized by a person who is incompetent and does not like that the courses are changed. I understand that it is a difficult task but when there are mistakes they do not recognize them and are reluctant to change groups. And that should be tolerated and accepted, because you are going to learn! Other comments: The quality-price ratio is disproportionate. Otherwise, a nice place for a Mandarin language immersion. And if you like nature, it is beautiful. Culturally and gastronomically it falls very very short.

They make Chinese food, talk about Chinese festivals and celebrations or organise an interesting Quiz. Once a month, a class dinner is organised with all staff and students.
Language Partner: The school organizes language exchanges with students of their sister school: Omeida English College. The school partners international students and native Chinese students for a language exchange. They are encouraged to do at least one hour per day of language exchange to help with cultural and language learning, or explore Yangshuo together over the weekends.
Weekend activities: If weather permits and enough students sign up, almost every week or every other week the school organises weekend excursions in and around Yangshuo to enable international and native Chinese students to join the activities together so they have as much interaction with each other as possible. “We will provide Admission Notice according to the study length the student will book. At the moment it's a maximum of six months course and X2 type student visa we can help with, which means it's no problem for a six months study and visa. After six months, if student want to extend study, we will provide documents for the student to go to Hong Kong and apply for another X2 visa to come back, also up to six months. ”
