Location: Centro Studi Italiano Federico II is located in the beautiful Sicilian city of Catania, in Italy. An ancient port city, situated on Sicily's eastern coast, at the foot of the active volcano Mt. Etna, Catania offers a unique base for learning Italian, with Centro Studi Italiano Federico II very well situated to assist students in succeeding with their language goals. The school is within a 30-minute walk of attractions such as the Cathedral of Saint Agatha, Castello Ursino, Elephant Fountain and Chiosco Bellini-Villa Bellini. The beach and numerous coastal attractions are also within walking distance of the school, in addition to the Catania Central Train station.
School facilities: The facilities of the school offer everything a student may need to reach their language goals. These facilities include a cafeteria, library, a garden, movie room, rooftop terrace, free after-class access to language learning software and a student support desk for any questions or queries that may arise. All classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.
Course selection: Course selection includes something for students of all levels. There are specific courses for ERASMUS students, summer holiday experiences and general Italian courses taught in groups, all of which are available throughout the year. Private lessons are also available independently or in conjunction with any other programme.
Social and Cultural: The school offers a lively array of cultural activities, helping students practise their Italian whilst embracing the local culture and history.

This course is 20 lessons per week of Italian and 2 afternoons of cultural activities. Price includes: entry test, map and introduction of the City of Catania, accommodation assistance, break area, snacks, drinks, use of computer and printer, WIFI, insurance and certificate of attendance on completion.
It is possible to add cooking class, pottery class, painting class (not included in this price). The first day of school all the students will take an entrance test, just to confirm your knowledge level and the class that best fits you.
Beginner topics (an example): Free time, at the bar, booking an hotel, conversation with friends, buying at the market.
Intermediate topics (an example): Sicilian Legends and histories, cooking history, Italian Cultural.
Advanced topics (an example): Politics, Health, Italian Literature, News, Movies.
Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

“I really liked everything about the school. The teachers are all great, the groups are small, so there is individualised support and great supervision. The material is tailored to each individual and the atmosphere in the whole school is great. In the afternoons, cultural activities are organised with all the students and you often go out to eat in traditional Sicilian restaurants, where you get to know each other better and can improve your Italian. This is my second time at the language school and I would never want to leave.”
