Positive aspects of school
My teacher, Jesús, was excellent! Seriously, one of the best teachers I've ever seen. The office staff were all friendly and helpful.
Negative aspects
The school is fine, really it is. My only negative comments would relate to the town of Heredia itself. It's a little bit slummy and not very interesting, but even at that, I got used to being there.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
If you can study with Jesús, by all means do! Unfortunately I don't know anything about the other teachers. If they're all at his level, this is a great place.
Other comments
All in all, it was a very positive experience.
City/place
I do not recommend Heredia particularly, although I did get used to being there. The downtown area especially looks like a slum. I came home one day to find a guy sleeping on the sidewalk in front of my door. I did find a couple of good restaurants. But safety -- no. The school held an evening event at a bar two short blocks from my homestay, and it was strongly recommended that I take a taxi home. Really?!
Quality of teaching / language progress
The last two of the three weeks I was the only student at my level, so the class time was cut in half. I was a little disappointed, but Jesús really worked me hard, so I guess it worked out even.
Accommodation
Alice was very nice and very accommodating. I feel that I got a very good picture of life there.
