Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I liked the flexibility of the school. I made changes to my timetable at short notice and switched between online and live lessons. That worked out well.
Negative aspects
The classrooms are noisy. For groups of 6 people or more, it gets stuffy and a bit cramped in the rooms.

Positive aspects of school
We had booked individual lessons for my 13-year-old son. The teacher was great. He also travelled to our house for the one-to-one lessons, so we didn't have to travel to the school.
Negative aspects
I would have liked a quicker response from the school directly after I had made the full payment. Something such as "We have received your payment, we will get back to you with more information and so on".
City/place
Great city with many activities and sights. But the accommodation and entrance fees have become very expensive. Not really clean either... disadvantage of a big city.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The atmosphere, school staff, and teachers are all friendly and cheerful. Every week we had one after-class activity. No mid-term test is given, but students are able to change classes according to their level of progress.
City/place
It is one of the nicest places to live in Europe. Many museums and Gaudi's architecture make your private time enjoyable. However, you can't count on the cleanliness of the city. You should always take care of your belongings and keep an eye on them.
Accommodation
My house is located about a 7-minute walk from the train station. The rooms are nicely furnished, in a slightly unique European antique style, and the host mother offered me a home-cooked Spanish meal. However, as dinner time in Europe is quite late, you have to adjust your time.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Classes are organised by student proficiency. I was organised with other students at the same level. There is the option of having individual classes with a Spanish teacher every day, in addition to the regular group classes.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It is important to practice Spanish before arriving. Because there will be an opportunity to speak, write and listen with other students who are below and above your level.
Other comments
The teachers are excellent. Excursions are fun and interesting. Make sure to attend each one of the excursions.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Courses at this school should be avoided. I can really only advise against it.
City/place
A wonderful place to learn Spanish
Quality of teaching / language progress
The quality of the teaching was so poor that I dropped out of my 12 week stay (already paid in full) after 2-3 weeks.
- no structure
- no homework
- no assistance
- NOT A SINGLE blackboard
- lessons were always started at least 15 minutes late
- no comments regarding pronunciation or correctness of words/sentences
- there were students in the A2 course who could not even form the simplest sentences- or answer questions.
I literally threw the money out the window. I ended up taking my language course at another school.

The way of teaching of Professor Joaquin
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Even if there are people in the school who speak English, it`s better always try to practice Spanish. Use other languages to the minimum as possible.
Other comments
It is a great school and organization. I`d recommend to use the services of this school.
City/place
It was my first time in Barcelona and I liked it so much. There are a lot of sightseeings. Good public transport system. Comfortable climate. The city is comfortable for going by foot and for bicycles.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I was visiting the school for only 1 week at level B2.2 I'm happy with the way of teaching at the school, especially the grammar part with Professor Joaquin. A lot of practice, speaking, very clear explanations.
Accommodation
My friend and I were accepted by a very kind host family. They had prepared cute room for us. There were all commodities in the flat. Flat is near the city center. we could reach a lot of destinations by foot. The family was very helpful and we had an opportunity to practice Spanish with them.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I learned in the conversation class more than 10 years ago and I just tried to learn again after I retired, but I just finished confirming the fact that I had forgotten and that's it. But I also felt that I was motivated to learn, so I think I had a good opportunity.
Other comments
To be honest, it may have been good for adults to take the afternoon class, especially for me, as well as the conversation one. Because, although it is the purpose to stay in Barcelona, you will have late nights and you won't be back at home until morning.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Make sure if you enrol in Beginners, you have some knowledge of Spanish.
Other comments
I am a rarity as a student at Kingsbrook, of this I am aware; hence my comments may not be valid for the majority of students in their 20/30s and at the very least bilingual. I am a mature Australian TEFL teacher and I only speak English with no learning of any Latin language. I enrolled in Beginners assuming that it was for students with ZERO Spanish. However, as the teacher, who was very nice and enthusiastic, never spoke any English at all, she did actions to identify what was required even when it was obvious myself and two other students, one who was tearful on two occasions, had no understanding of what was expected. The second week our teacher changed to Marta (Marina) who adapted her lessons according to our abilities, which is commonsense. I found my learning the second week was excellent and value for the money paid. The class asked questions and interaction was very good. I am very disappointed I did not have Marta for the first week , as she took time to explain in whatever way worked and even a new student was interactive. Estella, the first teacher is very talented but more suited to confident students, she lacks the understanding of what students feel if they constantly do not understand. As a TEFL teacher, I would not have any students if I did not use a work around to ensure my students understood what was required.
