Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The school is TOP. The teachers are motivating, friendly, funny, patient and positive.
Negative aspects
The accommodation - shared flat: CATASTROPHAL.
The bathroom black mould, from the shower 1 week only single drops. After complaining ... a trickle, alternately hot and cold. The windows and doors leak, very loud at night (sirocco), water ingress when it rains. No broom, no washing-up liquid, no salt, nothing. The rooms without keys for the first week.
City/place
Unfortunately, more and more shops and restaurants close at the end of the season. In the end, there is hardly an espresso or cappuccino to be found.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Standard B, highly recommended
Accommodation
Most of the other students were also unhappy with the accommodation organised by the school.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I didn’t take them trip to Taormina and Reggio Calabria because I’d already visited there. It’s definitely a trip to take.
Other comments
I had private lessons my last week because I was the only beginner. It was unavoidable but I much preferred the group sessions. That being said, my teacher Simone was wonderful.
City/place
I think it’s a great spot for a beach vacation.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I didn’t prolong course because it was the last week.

Great teachers. Very well organised. Welcoming, couldn't have been more helpful.
Negative aspects
Nothing I can think of! Can't wait to come back.
City/place
One of the best beaches I have ever been to.
Accommodation
Shared apartment a stone's throw away. Own bathroom. High ceilings, quaint old furniture. A/C only in the main room, not in the bedrooms. Very noisy outside as it is very central - bring earplugs if that might bother you. Loved it.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Excellent location, very proactive with fixing problems at the school apartments, kind teachers.
Negative aspects
Seems to be not very well organized (many problems during booking and with accomodations), accomodations very uneven in quality, amenities and distance from school.
Other comments
A cute school with some caring staff and teachers, though one sometimes got an impression that it's more of a business venture rather than a learning institution.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Some excellent teachers, though courses could be somewhat better organized.
Accommodation
Apartments are extremely uneven in quality, with some apartments situated really close to the school, while the others are very far, with no alternate transportation.

The evening with shared food and singing Italian songs together - a great evening
Other comments
Many students were attending the school for the first time, which speaks highly of the school. Piccola Universtia in Tropea was also always highlighted in comparison to other schools in Italy.
City/place
An exceptionally beautiful and friendly city, I felt very comfortable. In mid-June, the city was not yet so crowded.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I can only say positive things, for me it was perfect to have booked individual lessons as well, especially to practise speaking even more.

Quality of teaching / language progress
Everything great, good grading, would have liked to speak more ...
Accommodation
A bottle of water as a welcome drink would be good. Group work in the afternoon would be a nice addition. More singing/dancing/music-making together in the evenings. Thank you very much for the wonderful time! Ho imparato molto!!

Positive aspects of school
As I said, the organisation is impeccable. The lessons were methodically very varied. I especially liked the individual lessons with Chiara.
Negative aspects
The classroom was very dark. Weak ceiling lighting. We complained about it, but nothing happened. Classroom 2, I think it was. The teacher in the conversation lessons spoke too fast and did not comply with the request to slow down.
City/place
Super! But for older people, access to the beaches is difficult without a car. The stairs are manageable downwards, but upwards: you can' t do that. And from 10 September, there is no longer this bus service, even though there are still so many tourists in the place, and older ones too. For me, that meant a big restriction. These tuk-tuk rides are extremely unpleasant. The city would have to come up with something.
Accommodation
There was no contact person. It runs via the school, but they are very busy. The remote control does not work. The shower head cannot be fixed. The kitchen equipment is absolutely substandard. The lamp above the bed - the bulb must have burnt out.
Overall, the studio is really pleasant in terms of location and size.
But the terrace, for example, is not clean. I guess they don't sweep it. I don't know if the school is responsible for that. Overall: Would love to be back in this study because of the great location.

Unique location! Everyone tries very hard, from the drivers to the individual teachers.
Negative aspects
Very uncomfortable chairs. I missed some things that were announced in the info, e.g. borrowing adapters. The teachers had to keep changing their whiteboard pens, and I got the impression that they were poorly equipped with them. Unfortunately, not all of the announced program items were offered. The excursions can only be paid for in cash. In some rooms it was too loud, you could hear every word from the next classroom, which really disturbed our own class. I would have liked more variety in the subjects of the lessons, the subject of weddings and meals came up many times. Unfortunately, there was hardly any repetition, so that I have now taken a huge amount of vocabulary with me, but I cannot use it.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Great place especially if you enjoy swimming in the sea or beach bathing. Not super convenient to get to the actual city of Tropea, but the school does a good job with their shuttle service in getting you to and from Lamezia Terme. Couldn't be better and very accommodating. Just not as easy to get to from the U.S. as Rome of course...
I think mold may be a problem in the area as it's so damp. My apartment had some in the bathroom. When I told the school about it, they had someone come over right away to help take care of it. Very responsive, but if you are someone with sensitivity to mold, you may want to ask about this.

Other comments
Maybe it would be good to inform students that the price doesn't include neither the welcome evening in restaurant or any of the trips (in case you take transfer).
Students should be told at the beginning that any political discussions are not welcome (no Trump, Merkel, Berlusconi, etc) They get emotional, start to speak English and ruin the class :)

I would recommend to stay in the schools apartments. Take part in the excursions! They are very interesting and accompanied by professional guides.
Other comments
For me, as a beginner, it was rather difficult to communicate all the time only in Italian (It is the schools' philosophy) But the staff will speak German as well as English if it is necessary. On the other hand, through this way and after just one week, I can understand and read much more Italian now then before!
