Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Ask beforehand where your teacher is from. I went all the way to Spain to get a teacher from Argentina. Recommend not taking courses/classes from the teacher. I think it would be better to take classes at a school. My teacher was not patient with me. She refused to slow down her rate of speech in order for me to better understand. She told me "nobody talks that way."
Other comments
I was not very happy with my teacher from the beginning but I decided to "stick it out" because I thought it would get better as I learned the language. BIG MISTAKE! She treated me with such impatience that I couldn't believe she was really a teacher. The idea of living with your teacher was so appealing but the reality for me was a nightmare.
