Location: Academia Surpacifico Manta is located in Manta, on the Pacific Ocean, in a dry tropical forest with some of Ecuador's most stunning beaches. Located close to the University, the school is housed in a modern building surrounded by restaurants and all the amenities necessary for enjoying your time in Manta. The beautiful beach of Playa Murciélago is within walking distance of the schools front doors with services such as kite surfing, windsurfing and yoga, all available locally.
Course selection: The school offers a vast amount of courses including General Spanish in groups or private lessons, along with many specific courses such as Medical Spanish, Spanish with Yoga, Spanish class and diving tours, as well as a selection of Spanish and Volunteering programmes where you can be placed with a local Ecuadorian family, ecologically farming or give back to a local centre for street children and children with domestic violence. The school also offer a specialised 4-week course that takes students around Ecuador to 4 different locations, learning Spanish the whole way.
Accommodation: With accommodation options in Homestay with a local family and the school's very own shared apartment that comes with access to the outdoor pool, jacuzzi and bbq, Academia Surpacifico has everything needed to ensure you have a great time whilst in Manta.

If you are the only one at your level, the course is replaced by 15 private lessons.
This group class gives you the opportunity to learn Spanish in a more social environment so you can share your challenges and accomplishments with your fellow classmates. The classes are kept small, with a maximum of 5 students per class. This ensures that you will receive all the individual support you need, while still enjoying the benefits of learning with other students. This is a great option if you are travelling with a group of friends who wish to study together. Even if you are travelling alone, the school can place you with other students who are at the same Spanish level as you so that you can all enjoy the benefits of learning with a group dynamic and meeting new and interesting people.

This is an excellent option if you want to customise your classroom experience in order to get as much out of your time with the school as possible. The Medical Spanish program, like all the programs at Academia Surpacifico, takes a hands-on approach to learning. You will spend half the day in the classroom, learning grammar, relevant medical vocabulary, and practicing communicative skills with you teacher. The other half of the day you go to a local hospital, clinic to do observational rounds with other medical students or even work some supervised rotations, or volunteer at a pediatric rehabilitation center where they focus on prevention and alleviation of children’s developmental and neurological disorders. This program creates a great balance between classroom and practical experience, with each reinforcing and enhancing the other.

20 Spanish lessons plus 10 surfing lessons (5 sessions with 2 hours each) per week.
Surf lessons can be exchanged for 7 day surf board hire if the student is competent.
The surfing in this area of Ecuador is some of the best in South America, and Manta has numerous beaches that are perfect for surfers of all levels. December through April is surf season in Manta since the water is warm and inviting, and the surfing conditions are ideal. During these months the school provides surf classes every weekday in the afternoons, after your Spanish classes. Classes consist of 10 hours of surf lessons per week with Robert, a local surfer and professional instructor. The instructor speaks Spanish and English and will work with you closely, starting with theory on the beach, and then taking you out on the waves. More experienced surfers are welcome as well if you are looking for someone to help you improve your technique. The classes take place on several possible different beaches in Manta, depending on the conditions and the experience levels of the surfers, including Playa Murcielago, San Lorenzo, and Las Piñas. All equipment and transportation are included in the course fee.

It is very close to the beachfront, plenty of good local restaurants, a large shopping mall, and a well-stocked supermarket. It’s in a neighborhood where Manta locals live, so there are many opportunities to practice your Spanish if you are the type of person who likes to strike up conversations with people you meet while you're out and about.
The apartments are cleaned daily, but laundry service and meals are not included. There is free cable TV, and Wi-Fi internet. There are laundrettes nearby that will wash your clothes for you and have them back to you the following day.
