Location: Ardmore Language Schools Reading is located in the historic market town of Reading, in the South East of England. These Junior courses are housed between St. Joseph's College and the University of Reading, where the students are only a 5-minute walk from the main university campus. St Joseph's College, founded over 110 years ago and set within secure grounds, offers excellent modern classrooms and a wide range of sporting facilities including an all-weather sports pitch, an outside basketball court and an indoor heated swimming pool. The school's traditional yet modern facilities, allow students to have a unique experience studying English, via various Junior programmes. Situated within a 90-minute journey of London's major airports, the school is well placed for all international arrivals and departures.
Course selection: Programme selection is varied, offering students sporting options such as basketball, in addition to academic and traditional summer camp experiences. Activities, excursions, lessons and full-board accommodation are all included in all programmes, ensuring a fully immersive experience. The Academic Programme in Sustainability, available to older teenagers, offers 12 hours of green activities, on top of the conventional lessons of the programme. Every programme has at least 1 half-day and 1 full-day per week. Excursions can include trips to Windsor, London, Reading and Oxford.
Accommodation: Accommodation is available in Residential or Homestay facilities with local families, carefully selected to provide the home-away-from-home experience to all junior students. Within the Residential Accommodation, there is 24-hour security, ensuring the safety of all.
School chain: Whether a student would like to study in a college or university campus, a historic boarding school or a campus with galleries and museums, Ardmore has multiple options to choose from, in various locations throughout the world. Students may also take advantage of Ardmore's split-stay programme, where they may take courses in multiple centres during their stay.

Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

This volunteer programme is excellent for students willing to contribute to society during their Ardmore stay. Students will combine their English language course with the opportunity to practice their language skills with members of the local community.
