Location: Future Learning Summer School Athlone is located in the medieval town of Athlone, Ireland. The town of Athlone is brewing with history and has many sites, such as the Athlone Castle, Adamson castle and the Church of St Peter & Paul, for students and travellers alike to enjoy. The school is located in an architecturally interesting building on the outskirts of the town centre.
School facilities: Future Learning Athlone's facilities include large bright classrooms, a gym, outdoor sports pitches, a library and a Student Support Desk for any questions or queries that may arise.
Course selection: The course selection at the school consists of 2 choices for junior students, the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) programme for 11-17 year olds, with homestay or residential accommodation, and the Computer Science Programme which is for 11-16 year old students and comes with homestay accommodation. All programmes include tuition, meals, activities, accommodation and excursions.
The STEAM Programme takes place at the nearby Technological University of the Shannon (formerly Athlone IT). This is an award-winning university facility that brings over 6,000 students to Athlone throughout the year.

English Courses
The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) programmes has everything to offer energetic students. The school offers technology-enhanced morning classes linked to the afternoon activities.

Accompanied transfer from Dublin Airport (each way): EUR 150.

Morning: 9:30 - 13:00
Afternoon: 14:00 - 16:30
This course is 15 hours per week of lessons of computational thinking and problem solving, teaching students the coding system in English. A B2 level of English is necessary to join the course. The course is split into two modules; the first week will be an introduction to coding (block coding) whilst the second week covers the principles of java/python.
For the duration of your accommodation will be with a Host family who are all carefully selected by the school. Students are able to benefit from fully immersing themselves into a friendly Irish culture. Transportation to and from the school to your homestay is included in the price and will be either with your host family or a private coach. There is a special dietary supplement of EUR 5 per night for those that have food allergies such as a lactose intolerance or are celiac.
Included in the package is; Welcome pack and student ID badge, 15 hours lessons per week, materials and use of computer hardware, @flireland.com email address and all software subscriptions, transfers to and from school incl. transfers to excursions, weekend and afternoon activities, homestay accommodation, full board and end of course certification.
