How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school
One World Italian School is an Italian language school in the capital city on the beautiful island of Sardinia. The island itself has a shell of sandy beaches running all the way around its circumference with a mountainous skeleton. Sardinia is easy to explore by car, with a length of 4 hours from North to South and a width from East to West of 2.5 hours. A network of well-connected roads makes it perfect for weekend or day breaks. Cagliari, the capital city, is at the south of the island and is the main port for the island with ferry connections to both Naples and Sicily. One World Italian School has a breathtaking view of the Marina, from its 5th-story position in a historical building along the Via Roma. All the main attractions to visit, such as the Bastione Saint Remy and the Cagliari Cathedral, are within walking distance of the school and the surrounding area has an abundance of eateries and bars.
With nearly 20 years of experience teaching the Italian language, the school is well established and has been accredited as a member of the ASILS and the Eduitalia as well as being an official CILS examination centre. The methodology of the lessons is designed around a communicative approach, to steer away from mechanical learning, and to really allow the student to learn through practising the use of the language with peers and teachers. Sardinia radiates the famous Italian culture and One World Italian School embodies this into its class section offering its students a wide array of courses including Art and Traditions, Explore Sardinia, Italian and Nature, Italian, Wine and Olives as well as the very active Sun, Sea and Sport. All these courses allow the students to learn the language as well as dive into the culture and tradition that this picturesque island has to offer.

This course is for you if you want to learn Italian in the morning and discover Cagliari and Sardinia in the afternoons and evenings. It is a group course of 20 lessons, during which all basic language skills are taught and practised. The course takes place from Monday to Friday, from 9:15 am to 1:00 pm.
It is the ideal choice for those who want to combine a study and holiday experience.
The Standard Course is for you if:
- You want to learn as much as possible dedicating all the morning to studying Italian
- You want to put into practice in real life what you learn in the course every day
- You want to take part in our afternoon activities including visits to wineries, cooking lessons and visits to the beach

Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

If you want to apply for Italian citizenship (B1 level), get a residence permit (A2 level), study at an Italian university (generally B2 level) or certify your knowledge of Italian for your employer, or maybe just for personal satisfaction, CILS exams are internationally recognised and we can prepare you for the exam you need to do.
In the morning you will do a 20 hour general Italian course in a group to get your Italian level ready and in the afternoon you will do 2 private lessons to prepare specifically for the exam.
We are an official CILS exam centre, so you can do the exam at our school or in your hometown after your stay with us is over.

Sardinia's history goes back thousands of years and in this course you will visit some of the most interesting and ancient sites in South Sardinia.
You will visit the suggestive Phoenician/Roman city of Nora and the mysterious Bronze Age settlement of Su Nuraxi di Barumini, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The "Back to the Past" course includes Italian lessons every morning from 9:15 am to 1 pm, plus three afternoons exploring ancient sites.

This course includes 20 Italian language lessons, tour of the Castello district (2 hours), Italian and Sardinian cooking lesson (2 hours), and Italian and Sardinian cooking lesson and dinner (4 hours).

“Cagliari is a great place for learning even though it is quite a big city with a lot of attractions which might be a distraction for some students. There are some quiet places which can be easily found when you need a nice and peaceful place to revise the knowledge taken from the morning lessons at the school, I recommend the botanical garden and other parks around the city. You can also continue learning on the Poetto beach (which for me was somewhat too commercial - turistic). The location of the school, its surroundings and facilities are great. I have been to four language schools in the south of Italy so I can have an opinion on this.”
“My comments on the organization result from the objective situation of the pandemic and the related limitations. The school operated to a limited extent (no fault of course). There were only two groups with different levels of advancement and one teacher in each of them. In other schools where I was studying before (under normal conditions) teachers changed every week, and one day was taught by two different teachers, one with a grammar part and the other with a seminar (e.g. Picola Universita 'Italiana in Trieste or Tropea) . Within two weeks, I had contact with 5 teachers. This gives you the opportunity to meet different people with different personal characteristics (gestures, body language), pronunciation and accent, as they often come from different regions of Italy. It is a very valuable experience for learners of a foreign language. For the first few minutes it can be difficult, but it's a joy when we start to understand what such a new person is saying to us. People from the south are often very temperamental, and they speak so quickly.
The sanitary regime was very much respected.”

Quality of teaching / language progress: I loved the school. Small school and small groups. In my case, I was luckily to have a private teacher as I was the only student of my level. Noemi was an extraordinary person and teacher. I learnt a lot in little time. Thanks.
