Location: Xplore's summer language camp is located at Hanger Hall - a private girl's middle school campus. Situated within walking distance of the University of North Carolina at Asheville and several local parks, it is a beautiful space to learn. Asheville is a warm, welcoming city of 90,000 people situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

English Courses
The homestay camp allows the student to live with a real American family, whilst additionally joining the organised Xplore camp. This course runs from Monday to Friday starting at 9:00 and finishing at 17:00. There are 3 hours of lessons, 4 times a week. Occasionally, due to an excursion or special circumstance, the course may start at 08:00 or could finish at 18:00 but the student will have plenty of warning. The unique element of this course is that students will mix with student from American. In the morning you will learn English, whilst the American students will be learning another language. In the afternoon, students will combine for activities and intercultural games in order to each practise their newly acquired language skills. Furthermore, there will be some afternoon trips to explore the local surroundings. On Wednesday there is a full day excursion to Carowinds Theme Park for all to enjoy.
Learning with this Xplore classroom and homestay package is different. Students will benefit from two different learning techniques proven by experts to improve language learning. Firstly, time in the classroom develops language skills through a range of collaborative projects, games and individual tasks that the Xplore team will create to cover all ages ranges and abilities. The homestay experience means the student is immersed with their host family for the remainder of their stay, to practise what they learnt in class whilst it is still fresh. The children in the host family will also attend the camp. Students may share a room only with another child (international or American) of the same gender, and similar age.
There is a staff ration of 1 adult to every 10 students, so you can rest assured that your child will be looked after whilst in their care.
