Course structure: - Five weeks: Full-time study (20 hours per week). Classes Monday to Friday from 12:30 to 16:50. - Two weeks: Work experience in Childcare or Kindergarten Facility (25 Hours) per week. Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 15:00.Teaching English is a rewarding career that offers a unique experience for anyone who wants to positively impact on the lives of young students while helping them achieve their language goals. The Teaching English to Children Speakers of Other Languages (TECSOL) course prepares you with practical and theoretical knowledge to be qualified to teach children from 4-12 years of age. The course includes Cambridge Certification and two weeks of Work Experience Placement. This course is suitable for students who already have an Intermediate Level of English or above and will provide them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and strategies to effectively teach English to children while also building their own English language skills to the next level. **Course Content** - Demonstrations and lessons for teaching language – speaking, listening, reading, writing and storytelling - Workshops on teaching methodology for children - Practice making lesson plans - Demonstrations of classroom management - Presentations and practice through using songs, making masks, teaching games and other activities. - Practice teaching with your class mates **Requirements** - Intermediate English level - No previous teaching experience is required - Covid-19 vaccination certificate English language requirements for Intermediate Level English speakers: - Successful completion of International House Sydney Intermediate level of General English For students with an official English level test score, please provide proof of: - General IELTS 4.5 or Academic IELTS 4.0 in all skills - TOEIC 500 – 600 - TOEFL PBT 400, TOEFL CBT 97, TOEFL IBT 32 - Cambridge PET - JETP/EIKEN 2 Students with official English level test scores may also have to complete a short telephone or in-school speaking test, approximately 10 minutes.
