English Courses
General English lessons are designed around a course book and provide the opportunity for students to improve the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as enhancing and increasing their active/working vocabulary and grammar knowledge.
You will work on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills as well as extending your vocabulary and activating your grammar. By the end of the course you can expect to have improved your communicative competence and feel more confident and independent as a learner.

The additional afternoon lessons each week will give students the opportunity to put into practice the new language learnt in the mornings. Students will develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They will also work on extending their vocabulary. During these lessons the main focus will be to help students speak more fluently and interact more effectively in a variety of real life situations.
Vacation English Plus is recommended for students looking to balance studying English with excursions and activities in the afternoon and three evenings a week. You will spend the other evenings in the company of your homestay host learning about home life in England, all in an international environment.

The Family School programme is designed for young learners to study English at the same time as their parents. They teach and look after the children while mum and dad are studying.
The programme is completely oriented to make the lessons fun and to keep the children interested and improve their communication skills.
The very young students will learn through games and engaging activities. They will build confidence and become more efficient in speaking English, through work on the four skills and vocabulary. Lessons are fully interactive, with a wide variety of different topics being covered. At the end of the course, our students will have a project book with all the work they did.

Private Tuition consists of one-to-one lessons with a teacher. Students can book as many lessons of private tuition as they want. Content will be based on the student’s needs, which could be lessons on particular topics in order to build vocabulary or lessons to help strengthen certain weaknesses, such as grammar, listening or speaking fluency.

This is a course to be taken with a General English course and is for anyone who needs to develop the specialised language required for working in a financial and business environment. Based on a needs analysis, topics may include banking, insurance and investments.
Students will learn to interpret company statements and analyse company performance and will develop the skills necessary to write clear reports, present data, explain trends and their causes, and present effectively on financial and business topics.
After your General English course in the morning, you will have lessons focusing on English for Marketing.
Using authentic texts and analysing real companies, you will cover areas such as consumer behaviour, market research, branding, market trends, sales, digital marketing, negotiating with clients and suppliers, the language of persuasion and making presentations, with the main focus on building relevant vocabulary around each topic.
The English for Law course is focused on the specialised language required for working in an international legal environment. You will develop practical skills that will help you discuss commercial legal matters, participate in meetings, negotiate and make presentations more effectively.
This legal English course covers a variety of topics, such as company law, competition law, mergers and acquisitions, human rights and intellectual property, so you can be sure that your vocabulary on this topics will improve noticeably. Furthermore, you will utilise authentic legal texts and case studies to support your learning.
Morning lessons are structured to focus on grammar and vocabulary building, with specific focus on the ‘Use of English’, ‘writing’, and ‘reading’ papers.
In the afternoons the lessons focus on the ‘speaking’ and ‘listening’ papers. Students can expect to be given comprehensive practice of past papers and a thorough education in exam techniques.
At the end of your course you will receive a certificate of attendance from LAL.
This course is for students who are aiming to improve their IELTS score. The course will help them towards their goal of attending their chosen educational institution. Students will gain a better understanding of the structure of the exam, question types and techniques you can employ to maximise your score.
Information for all courses offered by ELS Toronto LAL Partner School
The centers curriculum is organized into 4-week sessions. For that reason, it is strongly recommend that students make every effort to begin their studies on a regular Start Date and study a minimum of four weeks. These start dates are as follows: 14.01, 11.02, 11.03, 08.04, 06.05, 03.06, 02.07, 29.07, 26.08, 23.09, 21.10, 18.11 and 16.12. That way they will receive a full orientation and complete the full 4-week session. However, this is not always possible, therefore the school will accept students for a minimum of two weeks, and they are able to begin their program on the second or third Monday (Except one block in July with start dates on Tuesdays) of a session.
There is a course material and technology charge of CAD 50 per session of study (4 weeks).
Medical insurance costs CAD 2 per week.
Unaccompanied minor fee will cost CAD 150 per child as well as a notarized Guardianship letter supplement of CAD 75 per child.
