Location: Portuguese Connection Lisbon is located in the historic, coastal city of Lisbon, Portugal. The Portuguese Connection school is housed in Principe Real Square, in the heart of the city, and is within walking distance of many shops, cafés, restaurants and many of the city's attractions. Within a moment's walk of the Lisbon Botanical Gardens, The Museum of Natural History and Science, the Mirador of São Pedro of Alcântara, and the Principe Real Garden, students have much to enjoy in the proximity of the school. The school resides in a historic building but has a modern interior, with walls painted in graffiti and spacious communal zones equipped to provide comfort.
Getting around: There are excellent links to public transport, ensuring that the Praça do Comércio, the Castelo de S. Jorge, and the 7 hills of Lisbon are just a short journey away. Lisbon International Airport is within a 40-minute journey of the school via public transport.
Methodology: The school focuses on communication throughout its teaching methodologies. Use of role-playing and outside learning activities in natural contexts, such as going to the market, which assists students in linking their learning to real-world uses of Portuguese.

This is the basic course of 4 hours a day every morning (attention: intensive course is 4 hours a day and not 3 hours). Portuguese classes begin on any Monday for beginners, intermediate or advanced students. The Portuguese lessons will focus on all language learning skills you need to improve: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

This is a package of 20 private lessons per week.
This is the intensive private course of 4 classes of 60 minutes every morning from 9:00 to 13:00 or from 14:00 to 18:00. Recommended for those who want a more personalized and individual approach and faster paced learning.
Whether you are an absolute beginner or advanced, these lessons are always better value because the teacher will be 100% focused on your individual language learning, ready to help you to improve and overcome any difficulties you may have. Besides, you can choose the subject you want to work on yourself.
Some students prefer to have a class outside the school, for example, to go to the market, a cafe, a bookshop or elsewhere. It´s definitely a more flexible course regarding the teaching method. Among them, the famous French writer Simone de Beauvoir managed to capture Lisbon’s character in a simple, but powerful sentence. For her, Lisbon should be described as "A southern city. A city at the same time burning and cool that contains in the horizon the promise of the sea and the salted wind sweeping the hills."
Portuguese Connection would like to offer you the opportunity to feel this intensity and make it yours. Instead of bringing home one of those tram paintings that you can find around every touristic corner, why don’t you learn to make your own?
We imagined a new program that can be combined with our intensive Portuguese classes. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (3 times a week), from 17.30 to 19.30, we offer you the possibility to participate in painting and drawing sessions lead by a drawing/painting/art history specialist. This is an exclusivity in Portugal, don't miss it !
During these sessions, you will:

- Azulejo: painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework.
- Observation drawing: graphite, charcoal , colored pencil, pen, ...
- Oil pastel and dry pastel.
- Watercolor and acrylic painting.

There was a lack of interactive phases in the lessons and overall I would have liked more space for speaking, reading and practising pronunciation. On several days, there was (too) much writing, especially grammar, which I found a shame given the precious time. The teachers talked a lot and it was predominantly classic frontal teaching.”
