It is the most effective way to make rapid progress: you live with your teacher who will give you private language lessons and correct you at all times. The Home Tuition Programme includes:
• 15 hours private language lessons per week
• Accommodation in your teacher’s home
• Meals and social interaction with your host
Choose the number of language lessons you require and personalise your Programme according to your needs, interests and preferences with a multitude of options and specialisations to choose from. Some things cannot be learnt by studying in the traditional way, fluency is achieved through living the language, using the target language constantly and in your everyday life. Culture, entertainment, leisure and current events are embedded in people’s language and these are as much part of the language learning process as the lessons.

The home tuition programme from HLI gives prospective students the chance to study English in Scotland while living with their teacher at their home in Glasgow. This city is most famous for its industrial past, the friendly locals and their sense of humour, and for being home to a vibrant art and music scene.
Your classes will take place in your teacher’s home, in this case on a schedule of 15 sessions per week. You will be able to request that your lessons focus on particular areas of the English language - so if you have an academic or professional opportunity coming up soon, then you can take full advantage of these private classes for that.
When it comes to live music and art galleries, Glasgow provides more than you could ever need. If you enjoy either of these activities you will find plenty to do in this artistic city, but there’s plenty more to discover here. Just ask your host family to give you their best recommendations for places to check out in Glasgow.
To ensure that your course and accommodation are up to the standard that you expect, HLI has placed Local Organiser staff within Glasgow. You can get in touch with these agents to communicate any issues or concerns you may have.
With this programme, you will be completely immersed in the target language and culture. The private lessons will take place at the teacher’s home and are tailored to your needs and interests. The programme also includes accommodation in a private bedroom (Sunday to Sunday) and 3 meals per day with the teacher’s family.
You can customise your stay by booking additional lessons, activities, courses for specific purposes, private bathroom, accommodation of superior standard, airport transfer and close supervision for young students.
