My teacher was very good, and the course format and materials were good too. People in class were at about the same level overall.
School seemed rather large and impersonal.

Course: General French Course - GR20 - 2 weeks
Student age: 68 years
The classes are a good way to get immersed in the language and to get to know other people who are going through the same experience. We were 6 people in class so the groups are quite reduced. The other students were very friendly and we often hung out after class or visited other cities that were close-by.
Shout-out to Gregg as he was very invested in our learning and asked us about what we felt were our weakness in French so that he could provide some exercises.

Most teachers are friendly and try to involve students in lessons. There are many oral activities that encourage learning.
In general, it lacks a lot of organisation.

Q&A - Questions and answers about Nice
- I would like to live in Nice for a few months so am curious what else everyone is doing with their time there.“We always ask former students in the evaluation if they have any tips for new students. You can see all these tips on our Nice page, under 'city reviews'. There are bound to be fantastic ideas about what you could do once you are there. ”Robin Rebecca Pietersma, LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 20, 2023I want to take a long-term intensive course of 3-5 months, after which I will eventually be able to speak French fluently at a business level. What do you recommend?“It is important to know your current language level, because then we can estimate approximately how many weeks you will need to reach the fluent French level. You can book most courses by the week, as many weeks as you like.
And I also recommend, if you want to use your French for business purposes, to take some specialised classes for that as well. Two schools in Nice that offer business French courses are Riviera French Institute and Idiom.”Robin Rebecca Pietersma, LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 20, 2023I am looking for a 50+ course in Nice. I love good food and the culture of Italy. Maybe the course can be combined with these aspects?“Azurlingua in Nice has the perfect offer for you! They offer a 50+ course that includes a wine or cheese tasting, a cooking evening and excursions around Nice. Doesn't that sound great? The course has specific start dates, but let us know and we'll send them to you. ”Lisa Saskia Schiwy, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 29, 2023I'm looking for a course for my 10 and 11 year old children. Is this offered in Nice?“Azurlingua (8-12 years old) and Riviera French Institute (4-17 years old) both have options for young students. Azurlingua most likely only has the kids course running during summer, while Riviera has lessons all year round, starting every Monday.”Robin Rebecca Pietersma, LanguageCourse.Net - Feb 20, 2023When do the Senior (50+) courses take place in Nice?“Senior courses (50+) in nice are generally available in February, May, September and December. These are available for 1 or 2-week programmes. ”Fraser Provan , LanguageCourse.Net - Dec 16, 2022Are there any preparation courses for the DELF/ DALF exam in January in Nice?“Yes, usually the first available dates are in early to mid-January and during the year at least one date every month. The minimum level required to enter is B1 and the schools check with a pre-test whether or not the student can enter the preparatory course for the exam. As it is a specialized course in addition to the set dates it also has a mandatory duration.”Antonio Zoppo, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 21, 2022Looking for an immersion school in France. Preferably, in small town or village Mediterranean side. One adult for a minimum of 12 weeks. I am a beginner level and prefer to stay with a family.“That is great. If you are looking for the Mediterranean coast, Nice, Montpellier or Cannes could be a very good fit for you.
We have many options for immersion programmes with Homestay accommodation in these areas, giving you a great chance to live the full immersion experience of studying in France.
Please let us know your requested dates, either via our chat or email, and we will get some quotes over to you straight away.
”Fraser Provan, LanguageCourse.net - May 05, 2022Would like to book one-to-one lessons. Can this happen in a café or similar?“The schools can arrange one-to-one lessons at the language school, however, if students are interested in a specific school we can always check with the school if they would be willing to arrange lessons in cafés or any other place outside of the school. Lessons outside of the school may involve additional costs (e.g. travel expenses of the teacher). ”Angela Ligartova, Languagecourse.net - Mar 03, 2022FAQ about courses in Nice

“None of the schools in Nice offer scholarship or financial discounts.”Angela Ligartova, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Sep 29, 2023I'm looking for a course for a 17 year old girl. She would like to join a group with people her age or older (but still in a range of 18-23 years of age). Is this possible? She would like to stay in a residence.“The minimum required age for the adult courses in Nice is 16 - 17 years. The adult programmes don't have a maximum age therefore older students can attend as well. We can't guarantee the age of students as it depends on the language level of students, however the average age during summer is lower: 20-26 years. Older students might be attending the courses as well. The Actilangue school in Nice offers a junior course for 16-20 year old students, however students under the age of 18 years can only book homestay accommodation. The Azurlingua school offers courses for 12-17 year old students with accommodation in residence. Availability always has to be checked with the school.
”Angela Ligartova, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - May 31, 2023I'm interested in booking a course in Nice. I would ideally like to be in a 30+ year group. If you have anything suitable, let me know.“None of our partner schools offer 30 plus courses. The average age at the schools is 22-28 years. Students are placed with the right group according to their level. They get along well during the lesson as their language level and their goals are the same.
”Angela Ligartova, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - May 03, 2023I'm looking for a school where our son can learn French in the mornings while we are on holiday nearby in the Nice area.
“The Azurlingua, ecole de langues language school offers many different options for juniors (8-17 year old students) during summer. Students can book the lessons only in the morning (20 lessons per week from Monday to Friday, schedule: 8:45 - 12:00). They may book the day programme, which includes the mentioned course, lunch from Monday to Saturday, 4 cultural or sport activities per week, 1 half-day excursion per week and 1 full-day excursion on Saturday. They can also book the junior package which includes French lessons, full board accommodation in homestay or residence, activities and excursion, airport transfer (return trip). ”Angela Ligartova, from LanguageCourse.net - Apr 14, 2022I would like to go to France for 2 or 3 weeks to follow a senior course during the summer holidays (July-August). Is it possible?“The senior courses in Nice are not in the summer holidays. They are usually in spring or autumn. In the summer months, there are many young students on the road and so most schools choose to form good groups based on language level, rather than age.
You can also join the general French course as a senior. I checked which school has the highest average age in the summer months in Nice and that is International House Nice (summer 25, all year 30). Furthermore Actilangue, Nice, France (summer 20, whole year 30) and Azurlingua, ecole de langues (summer 22, whole year 25) are also very good options and you are more than welcome in the general French courses. ”Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Dutch Consultant from LanguageCourse.net - Mar 02, 2022course destinations
