Very nice teacher who was very responsive and answered my questions in a simple and understandable way.

Pretty little town, very clean by Egyptian standards. Many restaurants and cafes along the sea. Large pedestrian zone.

Accommodation

Super friendly and helpful staff. Also, on the day of departure, I could keep the room until midnight for a small extra charge. The beach is very clean, but not very suitable for swimming, as the coral reef goes all the way to the beach. However, this was easily solved with a short walk of about 5 minutes to the Lighthouse.

Absolutely! Dahab is a special place and not comparable with other cities in Egypt. Lovely and I will definitely come back here.

The two language teachers who accompanied me during the two weeks were super! Very patient and very nice. I learned a lot from them!
There is water, coffee and tea available.

Negative aspects

The only small issue was the classroom, which faces the main road and was very noisy at times. In addition, an ATM with its back in the room rattles very loudly when someone withdraws money. The room is also right next to the main entrance area, which can be noisy.

Other comments

One day before departure, I asked the woman at reception for the transfer to the airport, which I had already paid for. It was supposed to arrive at 1am. At 1am it became clear that there had been a misunderstanding and that there was no driver. The man from the night watch immediately called the manager, who in turn called the hotel driver. I was then picked up 15 minutes later. This uncomplicated way of dealing with a problem impressed me and I am very grateful for it.

City/place

Dahab is a tourist spot. There are restaurants along the waterfront and shops on the other side. Of course, you are approached a lot, but never harassed. It is a pity that there are few sandy beaches and few bathing possibilities that are not either privatised by hotels or restaurants, or that it is difficult to get into the water at the "free" places. However, there are sun beds and sometimes umbrellas in most of the bars. You can sunbathe there and only pay for the drinks etc. The entrance to the water here is pleasant via stairs.

Quality of teaching / language progress

It was a lot of fun! The teachers were motivating. I had little previous knowledge. I could neither read nor write Egyptian. But I learned it quickly (at least the basics!).

Accommodation

I had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea, which was of course great! In the mornings you could enjoy the sun there.
There was also a fridge in the room and a kettle with some coffee and tea. The room itself was clean and nice. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. There was coffee and tea as much as you liked. The breakfast was plentiful and varied a bit every day. It was freshly prepared. The staff both at the hotel and in the restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful.

Positive aspects of school

The school is located in the hotel, 30 meters from the sea and 300 meters from the "center", close to many restaurants and cafes by the sea, without traffic. We were only 2 students. The teaching made it possible for me to understand the functioning of the Arabic language in only thirty hours at a beginner level.
