Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The building
Negative aspects
One of the two teachers (Maddy) lacking aptitude for the role (no empathy, disinterest, etc.)
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It feels like being in a middle school with picky teachers untrained to interact with adults
Other comments
In my experience other schools are much better
Quality of teaching / language progress
The afternoon hours quite useless .Students are invited to chatter all the time without the teacher intervening to correct etc.
Accommodation
No laundry, no electricity adaptor, scarse dinners with no variety, food at maximum economy, water heater at minimum to save money, zero sense of welcome.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Very good teachers using varied teaching methods. Very helpful and courteous staff in the school administration.
Negative aspects
The afternoon lessons were in groups with varying levels of English, which was sometimes difficult when doing exercises in pairs and groups. But this was not a big problem. I understand that this was due to organisational reasons.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It is a good idea to find accommodation close to the school and the old part of the city.

City/place
A wonderful city! Full of music and friendly locals. Within easy walking distance of important tourist attractions, such as the Cliffs of Moher, which can be reached for an inexpensive price by public transport. A well-developed network of travel agencies that also offer trips to more distant places for reasonable prices.
Quality of teaching / language progress
A very good course if you want to learn a lot in a short time. The classes are taught in such a way that they force each student to speak English.

Positive aspects of school
Great teachers, well organised interesting methods of working during classes. Very helpful office staff.
Negative aspects

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It is worth buying the book, it is helpful to learn. If the course doesn't suit the level you have been qualified for, wait two days of class and move to a lower level you will benefit more and not be stressed.
Other comments
A very atmospheric building that houses the school.
City/place
Galway is worth a visit, a beautiful city with lots of attractions. Live Irish music in the pubs is sensational. Residents friendly, smiling whatever the weather.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I rate this course very highly.

Positive aspects of school
Flexibility. Care. Kindness. Friendliness. Good teachers. Enthusiasm.
Negative aspects
There were no exact groups, we were put into different groups in the morning, in the afternoon, even for the second week. It had advantages, too, but there was no strong connection between the group members.
Accommodation
Dirty bathroom, no flexibility. We were treated like children, not as guests who paid for food, too. Being at home at 6 o’clock when you are an adult and school finishes at 4.30, also it is a long distance! Ridiculous. But if you were not at home by 6, you didn’t get dinner. She played for it, I guess.

I met excellent teachers. They used very good methods to help with language learning. If I can, I will come back one day. I returned home with lifelong memories, I had a lot of experiences. I got to know interesting people.
Negative aspects
I didn't have a bad experience.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It's just that they use every minute to study. Do the homework because it helps a lot in understanding and repeating the course material.
Other comments
Everyone was very nice and patient.
City/place
Wonderful environment, cozy downtown.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I met professionally excellent teachers.
Accommodation
We were in a small apartment house with our own bathroom and kitchen. The house was comfortable, beautiful and clean. The housekeeper was very kind and attentive, she cooked delicious meals every day, she even baked an apple pie on the last night. She was as caring as a mother. I can only recommend

I felt very welcome - all the teachers are very nice and well organised.
City/place
A beautiful city, very well laid out. I felt very comfortable.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The course was great and a lot of fun. For me personally, the part in the morning was more relevant, as knowledge was refreshed again during this time (prepositions etc.). Therefore, if I were to do a course again, I would rather stay a week longer and only take the morning classes.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Great, highly motivated and very professional teachers and a very relaxed atmosphere in the off-season.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
With 30 lessons per week, the 3 afternoons at school are very long. However, the classes are smaller and the teachers can deal very intensively with individual questions and problems of the students.
City/place
Very relaxed in the off-season, probably unbearably overcrowded in the summer!
Accommodation
Since buses only run every 30 minutes, if at all, and often get stuck in traffic jams, it is extremely important that the school in Galway is within walking distance, so that you do not have to constantly rely on taxis in the evenings or at night. In my opinion, a 30-minute walk is the absolute limit!

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I felt very comfortable in this language school. Small class sizes, different levels, very friendly and open-minded teachers. The teachers rotate so that I also had the pleasure of being taught by different teachers. Everyone has their own methods and approach. I not only learned English there, but also a lot about the country and its people and this has not been limited to Ireland. The classes are mixed differently: different backgrounds, different cultures, different mother tongues. Through the group work, you have the opportunity to learn about all these, to get into conversation and make friends at the same time. The school itself offers various leisure activities and additional hours. Bus tours can also be booked and paid for at the school.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Book market "Charly Brown", bus tours, pub Quays with fantastic music and great atmosphere.
City/place
The language school is located in the immediate city centre. Apart from many advantages, this has the disadvantage that the daily lunch in the heavily frequented city centre is very expensive. A minimum of 10 Euros is to be expected in each case. But the offer is very varied. The public transport is offered on the line 407, which was used to reach my host family, only every half hour and on Sundays as well as in the evening hours only once per hour. The bus is always at least 5 minutes late during rush hours. It also happened that the bus did not come at all.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Small classes; no frontal teaching, but active teaching, in which the student is encouraged and challenged through diverse group work; constructive feedback.
Accommodation
Very warm host family, fresh towels every other day, half board, varied meals, other guest students.

I enrolled for the 2-week CLIL course starting the 11th of July and you sent me to a teachers' refresher course the first day. The 2nd day I asked for a change and you sent me to a CLIL closed group that had started the previous week. The following week new students arrived and the teacher more or less started again with the lessons. My teacher Julie is an excellent teacher, very professional and well prepared, but because of all these changes I felt I had not taken advantage of this course and in my case it´s not worth the money I paid. I have been taking teacher training courses for ten years, and this is by far the worst of them. For the money I paid I was really expecting a good social program and more choices of learning activities in the afternoon.

Our two teachers were enthusiastic. They deserve great praise for their perseverance and the ability to understand "our" wide variety of accents ;-) Versatile lessons with various tools.... funny, informative, certainly "challenging", never boring. The "free lessons" were also very informative, some really excellent and sometimes more "useful" for knowledge building than the actual lessons.
Other comments
Sometimes the knowledge level of the participants in a group differs strongly. At the admission interview, it should be spoken more about the individual's desires, aspired goals etc. The written categorization test isn't really meaningful.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Galway is a beautiful town and, in my opinion, it makes sense to go for three months or more, as I did, because the Irish air needs to be slowly breathed. The locals are fantastic and you feel good. You should visit very well Ireland, which is wonderful and the best thing for guys, who want to spend a whole year, (which I recommend) is to book few month in the family and then find an accommodation in ans apartment on the spot, or for the luckiest, even a job because it's much nicer not to stay in a family.
Other comments
The school provides a good service, it's raising up again after a "sad" fall occurred a little ago and it's doing that really well. The Irish are very nice and the school staff super helpful

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
They basically teach grammar, which, for me, is an old-fashioned teaching method that gives worse results than the communicative methods. I had three teachers in four weeks and I only liked the last one. I was in two homestays, two weeks in each, and they barely talked to the students. I chose that type of accommodation to talk to Irish people but it was almost impossible. 15 minutes a day tops.
