Positive aspects of school

The special feature is the varied afternoon programme. This is very attractive for solo travellers. I would like to emphasise the hike, where you can easily get into (Italian) conversation with other participants.

Negative aspects

All the teachers go to great lengths and are very friendly. However, some of them are not entirely professional, but conduct the lessons as an average person without teacher training would.

Super fun, safe school, fine, knowledgeable teachers and nice students of all ages and from all kinds of countries. Instructive social activities, super centrally located. You are seen and not just one of many students.

Negative aspects

I had brought a computer because there would be an e-learning platform. Had assumed to be able to practice extra on that, but did not receive any information/explanation on that. All the teaching was on paper. During class and for doing the homework assignments.

Fun and beautiful city. Didn't have enough time to visit all the beauty.

Accommodation

The owner was very strict. I felt like I had to walk on eggshells. I chose this form to be able to speak/practise Italian, but the woman was mostly in her room, returned me that she didn't understand any of my Italian at all when we spoke or started talking French. Next time, I will rather opt for a shared flat anyway.

The private lesson was great because it gave me a chance to talk about issues that I couldn't discuss in class ( because there were several of us in the class). It gave me a lot of confidence for the future.

I definitely think Bologna is one of the best cities to go to.

Really everything in this school: Cultura Italiana, is wonderful! The teachers, the director, the teaching -grammar and conversation intertwine-, the atmosphere, the friendliness, the relaxedness, the voluntary classes and the leisure activities, simply excellent!!!! I had a rich and happy time there and hope to come back next year :)

Other comments

I think I said everything at the beginning. In any case, the school is highly recommended. But it is not quite true that mainly older people attend this school. There were a lot of young people there. But I found the mixture of generations and nationalities very good.

City/place

A beautiful city where I have been on holiday several times. Sights like Momba, San Luca, the towers, various churches, the Pinacotec and the Archaeological Museum, just like the whole atmosphere, not to mention the colours of the city.

Accommodation

A very nice Italian woman who always made me feel welcomed. Due to a train delay, I arrived more than 4 hours late. I had corresponded with her and she wrote: I am at home, I will cook you spaghetti! So nice!!!

Great teaching! Lovely people, so helpful and friendly. Perfect sized city for a student, beautiful and full of people to meet. Easy to practice Italian with students and teachers. Interesting topics that kept classes enjoyable and full of laughter. Amazing location - in the heart of town yet not full of tourists.

Negative aspects

Classrooms were hot.

Lovely lady, incredibly generous and like a nanna to me while I was staying there.
