Positive aspects of school
The staff, the teachers (4 out of 5 were really great) and the food.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I already had some previous knowledge, but was still classified as a beginner, which was also correct. The pace of teaching is very fast. It is not recommended to start the course without previous knowledge, as you will learn new grammar, vocabulary and Kanji every day. You should at least be able to read and write hiragana and katakana fluently.

Positive aspects of school
I really liked the overall vibe. Most of the students love Japan and are taking these classes because they genuinely want to learn Japanese. The teachers I had were all enthusiastic which is always encouraging.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I enjoyed this school the most. Be ready to study a lot and also take time to explore Japan and try out cultural activities! The school doesn't organise many of these but it's easy to find lots of activities to do by yourself.
City/place
Kyoto is a great city. It is truly the cultural center of Japan and it's location allows you to easily go to other interesting cities and equally enjoy city life and beautiful hikes.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I am very happy I chose this school. I took one month with the start of year in April. After one month my speaking, listening, reading and oral comprehension have all already remarkably improved.
My class was a beginner one and had a fast paced rhythm.
We were studying with Minna no Nihongo and have covered almost half the book in 4 weeks. You are expected to be an enthusiastic student as there is homework and tests every day as well as a lot of in-class participation.
My class had four different teachers with each a slightly different approach, which allow for a slightly different pace every day. They follow a pre-made classes calendar so each one picks off where the last one finished. I personally liked this a lot. All of them seem to love their job and the classes always have a studious yet happy mood.
I will most probably return to this school if I decide to come back for a full year studying.

I loved the diversity and methods used by the teachers. In addition, the premises were clean and pleasant. The cafeteria's low prices were very welcomed.
