Great, I think we'll come back!

Mini groups because the five classrooms (one of them with air conditioned) are not that big. But that is pleasant and keeps the school familiar.
Accommodation
Because of new laws, we were housed in host families.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The commitment of the teacher, she also met with us privately.
Other comments
On the didactic side, I very much would have wanted more (very simple) monolingualism. Sometimes the teacher's English was not enough to make things clear to me. I would rather have started with expressions of daily life, so that I could communicate at least a bit. Maybe the school will also rethink its course material in this regard.

- There was no evaluation of entry and exit contrary to the promise of the flyer. Just a grammar test on the 2nd day. -In 1 week, during 1 day they put the levels A2, B1, B2 together in other words a day lost for everyone -No written exercises -Written exercises not adapted to the A2 level -No correction during speaking time-The only positive point: grammar exercises that are correct

Other comments
I would recommend another school, for the moment the pedagogy in this school comes 2nd. They are just interested in cashing your money. The manager of this school does not seem to have a love for language learning, it's a pity.

Positive aspects of school
My sympathetic, competent teacher Alexandra. She is the best lanuage teacher I ever had. Outstanding!!! I admire her motivation and dedication. She can adapt teaching strategy to the student's need. I was on primary level, got good start of language during my 2 weeks. I will definitely go back and continue studying.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Start on the elementary level (like I did). Learn the Russian alphabet in advance, before the school starts. It is a big help and makes the beginning easier.
Other comments
The school is well organized. Courses starting on each Monday, any level and for any age. Exellent location and on a nice street. Helpful and friendly staff. Also, my homestay wuth a lovely person, Anastasia, was ideal. I can give my best recommendations.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The enthusiasm of the teachers for their jobs, their professionalism, the variety in the teachings between grammar with new learning units and free conversations/discussions. We always spoke in Russian, only if it was very hard to follow or with new vocabulary we switched to English. Even difficult topics were adressed with humorous text, which were also used as basis for discussion. The atmosphere for learning in the group and with the teacher (Ira) was great.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Participate in the offered leisure activities of the school (in Russian) - that few took place was due to a lack of participants. However, the city also offers so many ways to do something in excursions, churches and museum visits, there is something for every taste. To stay with a host family has a great advantage: you personally learn a lot more about the country and people, and can use what you have learned in class.
Other comments
There was a very good atmosphere at the school, even among students of different groups. An advantage was - what first seemed a bit crowded - that all students got in contact in the hallway during the break. That made the school very familial. The administrators were cheerful, friendly and helpful.

They should improve the accommodations. The classrooms are definitely too small for all the students, at least in the summer period. The teachers are great though. I especially appreciated Sveta Alexandrova and Katia.

offer more excursions. Unfortunately there was only one excursion to Novgorod during my short four weeks stay. Was very interesting. For a fee, the school should offer students who can show you the city/neighborhood.

My teacher Stanislav is excellent and the other teachers have been praised by fellow students too. Stanislav is proficient in many languages like me so we had very lively and interesting lessons also about grammatical language comparison. He talked to me exclusively in Russian, although I still struggle with my speaking it was a very good exercise. I now have access to an entirely new language. Also cultural and political issues were raised in the conversations. Stanislav has written a teaching tool, with whom I worked too which was outstanding.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
They should send photos of the property and be sure to agree on the information regarding the family.
Other comments
Classrooms functional, comfortable, bright, quiet, the operators of the school very pleasant, helpful. Also, the location of the school is very good. It is near Schulraeume. It has plenty of restaurants, shopping just a step away from the underground.. There is a fitness center within walking distance.

Response from school
The school changes the program and accommodation on the student's request. Upon arrival each student get printed information about accommodation and study. Our notes should help you to avoid some of the problems or misunderstandings while staying in St.Petersburg and living among Russians. We would like to point out that due to a very different culture and simple problems of communication, misunderstanding are almost sure to occur. There is nothing extraordinary. However, you should try to find the right balance between demanding too much and too little.
