Positive aspects of school

The atmosphere was great (thanks Antonella and Fred!). All the teachers I had. Jonathan, Andrew and especially Antigone. Also that there were smaller classes. There were never more than 8-10 of us.

Negative aspects

The social activities could have been more varied depending on the language level. I didn't find the textbook suitable for me (but it was very positive that the teachers brought in different teaching aids, independent of the book).

The atmosphere was very good. Textbook should also be bought. I didn't find the book very suitable for me. I didn't have to buy it after consultation and was able to cope ;-)

A diverse, exciting city, but very expensive. It's great that most of the museums are free (donation). I also liked the variety of food markets and opportunities to discover new things. London is also very green with its parks.

It was great that Jonathan sent out most of the topics/new vocabulary to everyone at the end of the week. This allowed us to concentrate on speaking in class.

Excellent school, centrally located in Oxford Street. Very good atmosphere from the reception to the teachers to the head Fred Gordon, who always had an ear for questions or the postponement of an individual lesson. Only the afternoon activities could have been a bit more exciting and varied. Absolutely recommendable.

The corridors and kitchen are not cleaned professionally on a regular basis and cleaning agents and rubbish bags have to be provided and disposed of by the residents themselves. The corridors and the communal kitchen were correspondingly disgusting. Never again, please!!!!

No desk for study. No table for breakfast. The owner didn't wait for my arrival. Anyway, this accommodation was not for an elementary English student. The owner was s good person but only for an experienced person who can accept her conditions.

I asked several times if I could start the course in the middle of the week, and by messenger the school told me that is not a problem. However, it was a problem since the assessments are made on Fridays and they begin new material on Mondays. No one told me to do the level test and I started as an intermediate. When I took the test, I was moved to upper intermediate after 2 days out of 5 of my course! It may work for long term classes, but in that case you should not accept 1 week inscriptions or advice individual classes or other options that fit 1 week. When I moved to the upper intermediate class, the teacher was not informed and I spent some time in the reception to solve that, losing class-time.

I attended classes in which three were few students, thanks to which I spoke a lot, and classes were flexibly adapted to our needs. After a two week course - I improved my pronunciation and gained more freedom in speaking.

I have been living here in London for 5 years I love this city, I think it has places for all tastes.

I didn't like the experience because they put me in the wrong class without taking a test first. After a week I was lost in the wrong class and when I did take the test my results were advanced, but they put me in an intermediate class. I didn't like the way they treated me at the school and didn't show me they cared.

There is an event called Friday drink (once every two weeks, free to join) organized by the school, that we just go out for a drink at a pub or bar. I was able to practice my speaking and communicate actively. There were also other events such as picnics, walking tours, and private parties where the teacher and classmates could have a BBQ or chat at a pub, so I felt that the equal relationship between teacher and student was also a good environment that made me want to learn English in a positive way. Another good point is that I could change classes according to my level. There was a simple test every Friday, and based on my score and the teacher's judgment, a student was recommended to move up to a higher class. I think they consider well that the money we paid was not wasted. We were able to ask for a change to a higher or lower class. All the teachers took my questions and concerns seriously and answered them.

Registration is required at the reception on the first day. I want to tell you (I was one of them) because there were people who entered the school without knowing the time schedule and holidays. Basically, there are no classes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and there are classes every day on weekdays. For General English courses, you can choose from 9:00 am, 12:30 pm, 16:00 pm, and 19:00 pm at a general English course in a class of 3 hours per session (with a +15 minute break). I was taking two courses of test preparation course and General.

Because there are a wide range of circumstances in various situations for going to school, for work, for improving skills, it was a high quality school that anyone could learn with confidence. I can recommend it with confidence.

They spend too much time asking students to talk to each other. You do not learn much from that technique. It is preferable to listen to the teacher and have them interact more with each student.
