Great teaching staff (Eva is a great teacher, many thanks for the great week), good organisation and the location between San Telmo and Vegueta simply fantastic and central. The city tour was exciting. And you get to know new people very quickly there, joint activities in the evening with the group were great.
Negative aspects
It was probably our mistake - we assumed in advance that excursions would take place more often to get to know everyday things. The own level should rather be corrected to the lower level.

Very capable and nice teachers who made me, as someone who didn't speak Spanish, want to learn the language. Good varied lessons, and small exploration units in the city, in the market hall and museum, combined with small solvable tasks. I liked it very much!

Positive aspects of school
I have been to many Spanish language schools in many places. Unfortunately, often only for one week. This was also the case here, unfortunately. Initially, I was a little shocked by the extra fee to be paid for the teaching material that was announced. That would certainly be a considerable extra charge for the one week and yet just another marginally used textbook at home in the cupboard.... . However, I was able to borrow the book on site for the one week. The price was reasonable. I found the level of the school to be very good. The level of the class members was appropriate. The rooms were pleasant and appropriate, and the location in the Triana district was very good. Our teacher was simply top!

Positive aspects of school
I really liked the activity day at the end of the week. However, after a one-week stay, I don't know how often the activities are repeated, given several weeks of learning at the school. The teacher made a well-trained impression, she knew what she was doing. It was fun to learn with her. Furthermore, it seemed to be common to go to a café together with the teacher/teacher during the break. I found this a very nice approach, that newcomers or those travelling alone can integrate or make contacts more quickly. All in all, I really enjoyed my visit to this school, so I can imagine studying there for a longer period of time.
Negative aspects
While researching the school, I came across an additional "books purchase price" of 30 euros for the price of the individual courses. I thought that was too much for a one-week visit. On site, it turned out that you can also borrow the books for a small fee.

Positive aspects of school
My teacher was fantastic and with only 2 of us in the classroom, my progress is noticeable.
Negative aspects
Classroom are small, warm (no air conditioning) and windows are facing a noisy corridor, especially when other businesses are on a break. Very few activities (one afternoon a week only). Not the best for people who wish to socialize with others.
Other comments
Small but friendly school. It’s a basic school, no frills, but teachers are all good.
City/place
Great city. Lots to do and see and public transportation is fantastic.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Teacher was well organized and her explanations were very clear. Enjoyed her method, could have used more summary notes after each class.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The teachers seem absolutely enthusiastic about what they do and are in a great mood every day. Their positive energy ensures motivation and fun in class. Most of the lessons are held in Spanish, and unknown words are first explained in Spanish. At least that is the case in the A2 course. Small groups and joint breaks, which are used to practise speaking! Much emphasis on speaking, writing is practised less. Homework, variety of teaching methods...
Negative aspects
In my opinion, the borrowed/purchased book was used very little, but there were a lot of worksheets.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
The excursions provide contact with classmates also from other levels/classes.
City/place
It's not a city you have to visit. But even if it is not a beautiful city, there are some nice places. Public transport is cheap, reliable and available all over the place - even to the south. Las Palmas has beautiful beaches and a great, warm sea. Temperatures are fairly constant at around 25°C, but even on hotter days a more or less strong wind provides cooling.
Quality of teaching / language progress
For 4 weeks a pleasant way to make good progress. For shorter periods, I would recommend taking more lessons.

Positive aspects of school
I loved the approach to teaching with regular formal style classes and one day a week of outside of the classroom study. Excursions and cultural outings are a great idea and bonus also. Loved the staff and cheerful approach to conducting things.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Give it a go. This is a delightful language school on an amazing island. The school nicely reflects the warm, relaxed island character of this amazing part of the world.
Other comments
The staff and teachers also embody the best qualities of this fabulous archipelago. Serious Spanish within a professional framework but gaining much more thanks to the location and spirit of place.
City/place
A really interesting city and diverse enough for a long stay. Very convenient location to explore all of the amazing island from.

Positive aspects of school
We had a small class ranging (over a month) from 4 to 6 students. All were friendly and supportive and created a fine ambiance for learning. Our teacher, Pilar, was also very friendly, supportive and highly competent.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I would suggest that students try to use the weekends to see other parts of the island; to hire a car if possible. Gran Canarias has much to offer and it would be a shame not to venture beyond Las Palmas. We found the cultural progam very enjoyable and informative and it was a pity that we were the only ones to take advantage of it.
Other comments
We enjoyed our time with the administrators of the course, Monika and Angel, when we participated in the cultural program. Both were friendly, informative and great company.
City/place
Las Palmas is not a beautiful city at first glance, but it does tend to grow on you. We were there in August, which is very humid, and it might be more pleasant in winter. The old city of Triana and Vegueta has considerable charm. We found the locals very friendly and tolerant of out attempts to learn the language.
Quality of teaching / language progress
My only criticism of the school relates to the ambient noise in the classroom. This is not the fault of the school, but rather of the building conditions that are common in Las Palmas.

Muchas gracias amigos!
City/place
Las Palmas is a nice city with lots of activities and a beautiful beach. As a woman I always felt safe, even at night. There are clubs, bars, restaurants, a beautiful old town and the rest of the island is easy to reach from Las Palmas.

I had an amazing time at the school. I ended up having private classes and they were great, interactive and fun! The quality was really high and I managed to get through the entire Level A1 in 2 weeks (with having some prior knowledge). The school also organises outdoor classes where you can go and talk to locals which is extremely helpful and a wonderful learning experience. I have learned a lot about the culture and history of Spain and the Canary Islands and highly recommend this school!

Open class day and additional excursions. My class had students in the same age group, 40+, which helped to keep the study process on equal levels for all!

Good school, location and helpful staff. Very easy and fast communication with administrator Monica, thanks to her! If you would like to do a morning español class and an afternoon surf class then book to live next to Playa Las Canteras!
