Try to travel to Cote d'Azur (Marseille, Monaco, Eze, Vantimy, Antibes, Cannes) immediately, from the first week. It's worth it.

A good way to gain knowledge of the French language and make new friends. My 4 week stay here left the best impression, and most importantly - gave me a motivation for learning language.

My host family's was close to the school. Small class of Intensive course. There were 15 students in a class of Standard course though, my teacher was nice and fun. There were only three Japanese students including me in our class and it was a great experience.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It is recommendable for the people who want to learn French during the vacation. Some students attend a course with their family. In my case, I wanted to study very seriously to prepare for the entrance exam of a university though, the level of the class was not very challenging. To be honest, I could not improve my French skills. Other students didn't seem to study very hard. However, I really enjoyed a vacation.

The varied teaching styles that culminated in an all-round experience. They mixed grammar with lively debates, and as a beginner I didn't think I would be able to articulate arguments but we were all encouraged to give it our best and the teacher corrected some of our efforts afterwards. They understood we wouldn't pick up everything in order, and gave us the freedom to absorb as much as each individual could on a daily basis. Significantly improved my confidence whilst attempting to hold a conversation.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
If the classes are held in Estienne d'Orves, it is better to book accommodation in the residence Colinette. It is newer and offers single rooms with a small bathroom and a refrigerator. The second residence is located in the territory of the campus. It is old, and the rooms are for four students. Unfortunately, the air conditioning is not provided anywhere.
Other comments
I studied in the campus Estienne d'Orves. The biggest disadvantage was the lack of air conditioning in the school building and in the rooms where the students lived. In July, the temperature was +35 degrees - it was difficult to study in such circumstances. The lessons were usually held without much thrill. Two excursions per week (Wednesday and Saturday). The rest of the activities depend on students´ choice. In most cases we were taken to the beach in the afternoon and left there (without any supervision), the bus picked us up in the evening . But many students moved around the city on their own. The most improtant thing is to be at a fixed time at the campus in the evening.

Have been there already in autumn and I loved it. Unfortunately, this time you cannot compare. The teacher was rather unfriendly and everything was very impersonal. I do not know if it might have been due to a lack of staff but this time, unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied.

Overall, the school is very good. It is located in the centre, near the main train station.

The only bad thing is that the patio/garden of the school is always occupied. Due to the lack of classrooms, many lessons (especially the private ones) were held there so students cannot enjoy it.

My second time there. Overall good organisation, but this time the teaching was a bit unstructured, and the level of some of the students was uneven .
Other comments
They are taking on a lot of students, good for business, but the result is a rather crowded and noisy environment, that at times makes it hard to concentrate during lessons.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I think that future students should try to speak french even if they do not know it. It will help them to overcome their language barrier!!!!
Other comments
Try to watch french films. Certainly at first you will not understand anything, but after 7 days you will understand. Do not be afraid to speak french if you make a lot of mistakes. It is normal. And I am sure that when you will come back home you will be proud of yourself.

There are usually not many advanced students of French at Azurlingua, so if you are an advanced student the course level is often too low for you.

It had free Internet Access and Wireless Internet in the hole building. Three teachers: Thierry, Genève and Sophie. They were really good. Furthermore you could find a "Monoprix"(like Tesco in the UK) near the school. And of course my host-family. I had a very nice old lady. She spoke to me for hours in French. She was really good (Madame Aimeur).
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Don´t go to the very first part/meeting. It was really boring. If you really want to learn French look for other internal students who have the same intention. Go to Monaco(great cars) and Grasse(cheap parfums) with the bus (only 1,30 Euro).
Other comments
The school was nothing special. It was appr. 15-20 minutes away from the beach and the city center. I had three really good teachers. The others were average. If you feel that you are underloaded change immediately the class. Moreover in the last week we didn´t have any internet access because the responsible for it was on holiday. Something about Nice: A very nice city during the day in the near future. A very long tramway it's getting built in Nice. That is why the MAIN public transport line will not functioning until the end of 2007. Furthermore there is much dog poop in Nice so pay attention. Almost every bar is closed after 2 AM and after 3 AM there are really few people/nobody on the streets so don´t go alone then.
