The instructors were very good, they made you speak in Italian and would correct you if it was not spoken correctly.

Positive aspects of school
The teachers I had were fantastic, especially Nazareno and Mary. I loved the school. My group was so friendly. The level was perfect for me - it stretched me without it being too much. A good mix of conversation and grammar.
Negative aspects
I enjoyed my private lessons more once I asked to do more conversation. I would recommend that the teacher starts the private lessons by asking what the student would like to do, because every student has different needs.
Other comments
Anna was very kind.

4th floor with lift: Separate room with bathroom in a flat, ok overall. Thanks to noise protection windows I was able to sleep well in the attractive but restless Spanish quarter! Centro Italia max. 15min. walk away.

Very committed teachers, small group with an international mix. The lessons were challenging, motivating, interesting and entertaining.
Negative aspects
Almost exclusively photocopies were used as teaching materials, some of which were poorly printed.
City/place
A very lively, interesting city with many faces. I didn't experience them as dangerous. One drawback is the cleanliness, especially the amount of dog excrement on the paths. Pedestrians don't have it easy in this city.

Positive aspects of school
Excellent teachers and education.
Visible context and cohesion between days which gave a development in their teaching and a progress among students.
They were skilled to get the students to speak and participate during lessons.
it was not high season (peak) maybe that’s why we were a small class 4 to 5 students a day during the week.
Negative aspects
The school was situated at second floor and the stairs isn’t made for people with any kind of walking problems. Maybe there is an elevator I don’t know. If its possible to have a wish : It had been extraordinarily with any kind of lounge , just a small room with a comfortable chair/couch etc.
City/place
A typical Italian city ( And all the things which comes with that). I do felt much more secure then what I had thought/ heard about Neapel. I never felt insecure for a minute.
Quality of teaching / language progress
1 week is better then none but 2 is much better for education and progress. Even though its a perfect way of spending a holiday week in Napels.

Teaching staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Mariarita. Very pleasant atmosphere in the school and in the lessons. Consistent motivating monolingualism. Noticeable learning effect for me.
Negative aspects
Equipment of the classrooms does not meet modern standards. Without a lift on the 2nd floor of an old palazzo was a bit difficult for me.
Other comments
Ideal location in the historic centre.

The very friendly staff and the personal relaxed atmosphere in the school. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun at the same time. About the activities - I particularly enjoyed the interesting walk with Mariarita.
Negative aspects
The lessons were sometimes quite unstructured and all the text writing was not effective for me. There was no work with media at all.

More modern teaching aids (e.g. film) and more comfortable equipment in the rooms would be an enrichment. The equipment of the rooms was quite simple...

Positive aspects of school
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The lessons were very varied and I am getting a lot out of them.
Negative aspects
The one-to-one lessons were annoying for me. I had expected conversation - albeit at a very low level - to be offered. Unfortunately, instead I almost only filled in sheets - using the right verbs, conjugating ect. That's not exactly "super" for a fortnight. We "talked" very little; this was also due to the fact that the teacher (she was very nice!) did not know English.
City/place
Chaotic, turbulent, but not a problem for a few weeks. The city is quite dirty in many corners, but still rich in history. If you want to go to the sea, you have to take a 40-minute train ride. But at the end of the journey you are right at the beach (Torregavete). A short walk and you are on a long sandy beach. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sea without paying an entrance fee.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Was lucky to be only two in the class, three in the third week.
Accommodation
The flat was very good! Highly recommended. Everything there, fully equipped, about 5 minutes from the school. The landlady is a teacher at the school. She and her partner are always on hand to help with any questions or problems. I can highly recommend this.

There is a very friendly and informal atmosphere at the school. The teachers are committed and are happy to help the students outside of class. Classes are small and lessons are adapted to the strengths and weaknesses of the students.

Everyone should visit Naples at least once. It is the friendliest large city that I have ever visited. There is a lot of graffiti and many buildings could use a facelift, but it is all cosmetic. Naples is vibrant, safe, has an amazing history and an outstanding food scene.

The old town is an inhabited open-air museum. There is a lot of culture. The traffic and the many people in the city centre take some getting used to.

The teachers were very friendly and very attentive but I think that the teaching methods must evolve: old photocopies, whiteboard, no video, 1 audio exercise in 15 days.
Besides no exercise to do in the afternoon, I had had that in other language schools and it allows for faster progress.

Unfortunately, zero privacy in a shared apartment. You don't get a room of your own, but rather the upper part of a horizontally devided room (at least in my case) next to the entrance and the kitchen. Better opt for an apartment of your own.

This school is an OK option for a week or two class if you're on vacation in Napoli and want to work on your Italian. If you're really looking for a challenging environment, I'm not so sure. I've studied in over 12 private language schools in Europe and the Americas: this is the first where the vast majority of the time no homework was assigned. In addition, they do not utilize a book: everything is photocopied exercises. There is no reference material to refer back to, no written explanations, no reinforcement of concepts learned. It is impossible to know where you are in the course/level, or what you need to accomplish to move to the next level. This is not the fault of the teachers, who are generally very capable: rather, the direction of the school seems to not be focused on creating a challenging learning environment. It would be so easy to offer an afternoon movie or TV show with italian subtitles to work on oral comprehension. Even optional homework or seminars would help for the student that was really wanting to improve their language skills. I spoke with many other students who felt that their time in class was not really challenging and that they didn't make the progress they had hoped to. While there were a number of beginner level classes, this was not true with the 2 (intermediate) level. Challenging does not mean that the classes can't be fun, and even a minimum amount of homework/exercises (30 minutes?) would add to the learning experience.

Try to attend the weekly free walking tours. It's good exercise for the mind and the body, and you visit some key locations in the city with your fellow classmates. You can then finish the day with a group aperativo somewhere.

They follow the usual language school format of splitting the morning up into grammar session and a conversation session. Classes start at 0930 and finish at about 1315 each day.

The first morning was a bit awkward. We were sitting for an hour not knowing what was happening really. Would have liked a better welcome and better information. This time we could have used for looking at the week's activities and excursions organised by the school. The information given later ”drowned” in other papers.

Firstly, the school is situated in the historical center and the building is a "palaccio Napolitano", a wonderful and typical habitation.
Then, the quality of courses is excellent because they are tailor-made for foreign students. Teachers are completely used to different nationality and provide a dynamic interaction all together.
The rhythm is fine. It's intensive but pleasant and focused on communication which is very useful for beginners.

The teachers were very committed to the matter.
Negative aspects
The accommodation was a bit to complain about. The people were nice and also very communicative at dinner. Breakfast was unfortunately always alone. The bed was an old fold-out couch with an old mattress which caused backache after 2 weeks. For breakfast there was two weeks the same. A little bread with some apricot jam and some biscuits (also two weeks the same biscuits). Recommendation here is to book only breakfast. Food you get really cheap in the side street. But in total only an average rating due to the accommodation. The owner of the accommodation was the brother of the schoolholder. For two weeks ok. However, other accommodations should be preferred.

Learning basic grammar before attending a course would be a good idea.
Other comments
Teachers seemed to expect that we had already learned basic grammar and that our vocabulary already was sufficient for conversation and this was a beginners' class.
There should be some demands for American college students to make actual progress in their language studies. The ones in my class had already had two two-week courses in Florence and Rome before the course in Naples and they started again at a beginners' level course.

Excellent instructors. Inner city Napoli is dirty and crazy, but outside the city is amazing.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Be aware that the school, most classrooms, and school apartments do NOT have air-conditioning and summer in Napoli is brutal!!! Also, whatever floor they say your apartment is on, add 1 and then double it.
