The teacher Davide was great. Without him, the school would not have scored so well.
Negative aspects
I also had one individual lesson after the group lessons. The two teachers (Cecilia and Maria) were not so good. For me, Maria was even better than Cecilia. Didactically okay-ish. After a while, Maria was more able to adapt to me (she always wanted to talk about fashion and art - not my topics. I told her I wanted to deal with everyday situations on the street, in the shop etc. as conversational topics). Both ladies sometimes spoke for 3-5 mins without any pauses.... As a student you get hung up on that. It's nice when, for example, Maria knows so much about art and history, but I haven't booked a university course. And not SHE, but I should speak as much as possible....
City/place
Pretty town, not too big. Beautiful old town, lots of shops, countless places to eat.... Really nice.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Group lessons with Davide were great.
Individual lessons with mainly Maria were ok.

The shared apartment is terrible.
One toilet/shower for 4 people, the kitchen is not good at all. Max 3 people.

Very poor organization, waste of money. I paid for a two-week course, but had to stop attending the school after a week, as the teacher, who was constantly sneezing and blowing his nose, was giving incomprehensible lectures.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I do not recommend anyone to try to study at this school.
Other comments
I can give only negative reviews.
City/place
Beautiful city, very beautiful nature. Good transport accessibility. Surprised by the almost complete absence of public toilets. Only at the railway station, old and new, and in one of the parks on the outskirts of the city. I saw people go into McDonald's and ask visitors for receipts to be able to visit the toilet.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Waste of money and time.
Firstly: on the first day of training for new students, a survey tour was conducted along the streets adjacent to the school. The tour was conducted in Italian, which I did not know. The man who conducted the tour smoked on the go, it was very unpleasant for me, a non-smoker.
Secondly: there were no audio manuals in the classroom at all. Of the video manuals, only one video clip was used of singer Mahmoud. The teacher gave lectures in Italian, which I do not know, and which I would like to study. I didn’t understand anything. I bought a dictionary in a bookstore, but did not manage to translate with it. I had a tablet computer with me, but I could not use it, because the Wi-Fi signal was too weak in the classroom. Four other students studied in the Intensive program, and in the afternoon they studied with another teacher, so it was easier for them.
Thirdly: the teacher David was constantly ill. He sneezed and blew his nose, it was unpleasant, I was constantly afraid of getting sick because of this. On Friday, May 17, David was very sick, his sneezing and runny nose intensified, and he began to cough. In addition, a student of Romin fell ill, she also began to sneeze and blow her nose. I realized that my body could not stand the two virus carriers. I really didn’t want to get sick either, so I left school after studying for only a week. Moreover, I did not understand anything as the teacher spoke Italian.

I arranged the accommodation myself through airbnb. My evaluation of the same (and the distance to the school) shall therefore not be included in the overall evaluation. Leisure activities were too meager. There was only one excursion beyond the city limits, contrary to what was advertised.

The first week I was in a class of 3 students and we only had 3 lessons instead of 4! The fourth hour was 'self study' which is normally done with computers for evaluation - but there were no computers and no teacher. the social activities are the same every week - with 50+ for more than a week you lose money - it would be better to register on the spot.

Anyone taking a course should consider joining the cooking class. I chose it twice. Lovely elderly lady taught us how to cook and in the end we ate it all. Just today, I sent her a small gift to thank her. For those who have chosen a special course like me (50+) didn't have to pay extra.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I didn't think the afternoon classes were well-organized. I think my time would have been better spent going to the beach and outings with other students. It is good to stay with a family. It adds a lot of Italian to your knowledge of the language.
Other comments
This was a friendly and easy going place. Although the course is basically communicative with some coverage of grammar, the placement tests are all grammar and should have had an oral part to them. I enjoyed it and would go back again if the dollar wasn't so low compared to the Euro. It is quite expensive there for Americans. Great experience.

Confidently organised, the staff were always willing to take that extra step to ensure that everyone studying at the school was happy. The quality of the teaching was fantastic (Thank you Irma!) and I can truly say I enjoyed each and every lesson. Social activities were readily available but I always felt like it was my choice to go or not, no pushing selling like at some other language schools. Friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Since I live here (Badalucco), I could not participate in the leisure activities. But I could see that the group cohesion was very nice, when the students took part in joint activities. Perhaps this should be recommended. If you book two weeks, it's always very nice to establish some contacts.

People are friendly and welcoming. The teaching was at the level I needed and no time was wasted. My tutor was very committed and I enjoyed my hours with her. The time, for me, went very quickly each day, even though it was 2 hours of conversation with my tutor who was very patient and encouraging.

The Sanremo Language school suited me very well since it is situated in Sanremo, a very pleasant town, not too big. I have been at the school before, I was pleased with the teaching and so I had no hesitation in returning there for another course.

Its a small, relaxed school and because of this your Italian will improve rapidly as you have plenty of opportunity to practice conversation in the classes. The staff were also really friendly and always willing to help you with anything even things outside of the school. I would definitely consider going back again next year. In fact some of the students there this year also did a course there last year.
