The teacher, Ms Chiara was very friendly, extremely patient, sincerely caring, was always on time and prepared for class. The classes were engaging with the right amount of learning, fun & games related to the content. The other teachers who conducted the extra classes also showed similar positive traits.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Try not to miss the free extra sessions on culture or grammar provided by the school if & when available. It would be a good idea for the student to attend the intensive courses and also live with an Italian family so that he/she is able to communicate in Italian outside of class as well.
Other comments
The classes were conducted professionally using highly effective language immersion techniques. I look forward to returning and continuing my Italian language studies with Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci when the opportunity permits.

The rooms were too bare, without atmosphere. Not many chairs outside the class rooms. It bothered me that we weren't given an attendance certificate at the end of the course and much less a "diploma" stating the achieved level.

My greatest disappointment that, having paid for 20 lessons per week, I lost the first two lessons due to the inefficiencies of the initial test. We were asked to be there by 8.30 for the test, then classes started at 9. Yet, even though I finished my test by 9, I was asked to come back only for the last two lessons for the day, thus lost 2 lessons I have paid for. I was very unhappy that I had to sit in a cafe while the lessons I had paid for were running, I should have been in the classroom! I was then allocated a class with 14 people in it, this was way to big and I found that such a big class slowed down my progress. Also, very little homework was given; if there were more and this was checked by teachers the next day, I would have learned a lot more. When asking for another class, I was put in a much smaller one, which was ideal, but then I have already lost two days, which I had paid for. Also, private tutorials were very expensive, 40 euros for 45 minutes, but at least these were very good.

I had 2 teachers on the course, although both were good, I like my second one much better. She was very enthusastic and broke up the 3 hrs with a lot of things, but not too much to overload us. I found both teaching syles extremely different and at completely different standards, so it was very overwhelming for me to go from one class into another!
