Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Great teachers, very approachable and open. Learned a lot, laughed a lot. Small classes. The trips were well organized and great for exchanging ideas with other students.
Negative aspects
Small point: The teaching material was not entirely ideal; the school could make improvements here.
City/place
Fantastically beautiful city, with a lot of history and beautiful sandy beaches and gardens. There is hardly any overflow of tourists and a constant feeling of security. The city is well connected via long-distance buses and trains, making trips into the surrounding area easy.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The classes were small. The teachers were very committed, always polite and in a good mood. They were very good at teaching the language and at motivating us.
Negative aspects
Small rooms, it was very cold in the rooms. The teaching materials were not well bound and pages were missing or incorrectly numbered. One week there were classes from Germany, which was pushing the limit. Only 2 toilets!
City/place
I really liked Cádiz. Everything was clean, the people were friendly. Good food at low prices. The beach was sensational.
Quality of teaching / language progress
We were a small class and were able to benefit a lot.

Great teachers with a lot of commitment and many examples from life in Cádiz and Andalusia.

Room space is a bit tight. Mix of over 60s with "youngsters" is not sooo ideal (you're no longer 20: Learning pace!)

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I was at this school for three weeks and it was the perfect length of time for me to improve my language skills. I really enjoyed the well organized and planned grammar classes (Muchas gracias a mi super profesor Lolo), and greatly improved my understanding of grammatical structures and rules. The teacher presented the class with weekly summary charts that were concise, informative and easy to understand, consolidating knowledge and linking it to previously learned knowledge. My conversation teacher, Concha, was good... teaching style seemed fluid / relaxed and sometimes was linked to the grammar learned earlier in the day, sometimes based on events and student interests. I expanded my vocabulary and learned some fun colloquial phrases that I will use often in future conversations. The school organized tours were amazing (wine tour, tapas, and historical tours). I liked that the weekly activities were summarized and always available via QR codes. I liked the school cloth tote bag that was gifted to us, I used it daily, it was really practical for carrying groceries, school workbook, etc. The workbook is excellent, has useful relevant information and lots of practice exercises. It is included in the class fees which is really good. The campus is amazing, beautiful large classroom, top notch technology, nice front garden with shaded comfortable chairs and a back yard lounge and learning area with large table and a coffee machine. Perfect! Kudos to the entire SIC administration and teachers for a wonderful learning experience in a clean beautiful learning space.
Negative aspects
I would have preferred that the weekly activities and excursions be presented during the pause or during lunch time rather than taking up class time.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Flamenco shows at Perla de la Pena.
Other comments
Wonderful school, I was impressed by the administration and my grammar teacher.
City/place
Third time in this beautiful city. Lots of leisure, cultural, and sporting activities, flamenco events are incredible, beaches are gorgeous, food is wonderful and the people....ohhhh the people! Lovely historical center and people.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Fantastic experience, I was in a B1 group and we were almost all 50+ learners, lots in common, good times exploring the city together.

Positive aspects of school
The teachers are very good and adapt to the pace of the students. At the same time, they demand enough to progress. In general, the atmosphere at the school was great. Huge thanks to Lolo, Bojar, Paloma and Concha, as well as Ina and JuanMa. Alejandro and Luis always have an open ear for problems, information, etc. outside the school.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
There are also individual lessons after school, which are very useful for actually solving your own problems with the language or if you simply want to have 1 hour individually. Highly recommended.
Other comments
A brilliant language school.

Very good service! Extraordinarily competent support in case of problems.

Wonderful for learning Spanish - especially if you live in the old town. Tourists don't get lost here in the evenings. Which means you have to use your Spanish pretty quickly. A wonderful city. Absolutely recommendable! I will be back.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
- Very friendly Spanish teachers. - Lessons in the A1+ course have brought me to a much higher level within 2 weeks. I now feel confident in most situations when talking to strangers. - Leisure programme is also very good for the most part and there are also free events. - Teachers are responsive to wishes, learning goals and interests. - Good group sizes (4-7)
Negative aspects
- Some leisure activities were expensive. But you don't have to do everything. - It would be a good idea if there were some leisure activities on Mondays or Tuesdays (e.g. tapas evening / lunch together / ...), so that you could get to know the people from your own course and from other courses better. - Unfortunately, there were few students my age (25) during my week. - Many were pensioners or only 16
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
The tapas evening, the city tour, the beaches and the whole atmosphere of the city are wonderful.
Other comments
All great.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The course is the same as the Standard course, except that it starts at 9 am instead of 9:45 am. This allows specific topics to be practised in the first hour, sometimes in a smaller group, as others in the course had only booked Standard.
Accommodation
All good.

Positive aspects of school
The Spanish teachers (Borja - grammar, Concha/Carmen - conversation) were super nice, dedicated and competent! Highly recommended! I was lucky with the group and it was a very nice community, even after the lessons!
City/place
Cadiz is a charming city, but it takes a while to really understand the charm of this city and the hustle and bustle. Every day you discover something new, exciting, interesting - Cadiz and its surroundings (Vejer, Barbate, ...) are like an onion - and in the end you know why Andalusia is so well-known and popular.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I would have liked it if you had been given more practice examples/exercise worksheets to do at home. I learn most by practising, practising, practising!
Accommodation
My host Rosario was an elderly lady who spoiled me like crazy with her cuisine, although she had a hard time because I am a vegetarian. I must have put on 5 kg. If I had been a meat eater, I would have exploded for sure.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I liked it very much. The school management and the teachers were very friendly. The lessons in these short 2 weeks were very informative for me and helped me to refresh my knowledge. The teachers (Concha and Carmen) are very attentive to the students and the situation in class, and they have a good sense of humour. I think that's great. I would return again!
Negative aspects
Unfortunately, there was a public holiday in each of these 2 weeks: no school. But that's not the school's fault!
Other comments
It's a beautiful, interesting city and you can get to the sea in no time. However, if someone is looking for more greenery nearby, I would not recommend this city.
City/place
It is a very special city because of its location, with many narrow streets. But you can also get to the big beaches very quickly. Very clean, very lively and I always felt safe.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I honestly don't understand the difference between 50+ and another course. Is it the price? I was in class with 4 young people. I don't mind at all, I love young people. But there are many who think they are only in class with older people.

The family were nice people but Not recommended. There was smokers, pets and a lot of noise. The bedroom was adjacent to the family’s living room were they watched tv until 1am, the room had poor furnishings. I left after 2nights. Hostel accommodation more comfortable.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Teachers and staff very nice. Lollo in particular also gave good tips for leisure time. The location of the school is great.
Negative aspects
Lessons sometimes unorganized. Classrooms tiny. The house has just been renovated, so it was sometimes unbearably loud during class. Contrary to what was on offer, very few leisure activities were offered. Tapas evening together once a week.
City/place
It really is a very beautiful city and the beach is on the doorstep. A lot to see during the day. You can also do great shopping. But why is there not even a little music anywhere. Just tapas bars without music, nothing else. I just lacked the positive mood. I definitely recommend another city for beginners. The Spanish spoken in Cadiz was very fast and choppy and I found the inhabitants to be mostly very unfriendly.

Great atmosphere. The teachers were excellent and created a very encouraging learning environment for all.
City/place
Yes I would go back. Accommodation in general in the city is very expensive.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The fact that when there were one to one lessons, they did not reduce the hours of tuition which some other schools do apparently.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Go off-season for smaller classes
Other comments
Excellent textbook but sadly no accompanying answer book to carry on working on it on return
Quality of teaching / language progress
The activities could have been better. For instance a get together should have been held on the Monday when new students join and not on the Thursday. It was in town at 9:30 when it could have been earlier and more local. Not much else arranged or explained, eg go to cinema would have been nice.

The teachers really speak Spanish at their own pace. This was a great relief for me after having followed many courses in the Netherlands.
Accommodation
The residence is centrally located in the old town. This means that all facilities are close by, but this also causes a lot of noise. At night, the streets are full and the rubbish man or the high-pressure cleaner comes to clean the city. If you do not sleep well or cannot stand noise, the residence is not recommended.

City/place
Cadiz is a wonderful place to study Spanish. The local people are extremely friendly.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I was lucky enough to attend Spanish in Cadiz during the low season, so I benefited from low student numbers. The teachers and the administrative organizer were all excellent. I cannot comment on activities and excursions as I didn't participate in any. I would certainly return to SIC in the future.
Accommodation
The residence was centrally located which was very convenient. The 15-minute walk to school was not a problem as the route took me along the seafront with beautiful views.
