Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Very good teachers who cared about every student. The placement by level was very good. Everyone was very caring about the students' well-being. It was easy to get in touch with other students from all over the world and the students were motivated and interested in other cultures.
Negative aspects
The afternoon programme could have been more varied. However, I was only there for 2 weeks.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It is important to read the host parents' information critically and also to check the place of residence. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to get to school/downtown by public transport, otherwise you won't do anything after school. Many students who stayed longer changed host parents, as they told us. If you are open-minded, you can quickly establish contacts with students from all over the world.
Other comments
Great school - very motivated staff and totally centrally located in Boston.
City/place
From a German perspective, everything was very expensive. We were glad that thanks to the summer programme some concerts were offered for free. We were always on the road with the bluebikes. Basic food is also very expensive. We hardly went shopping and did not eat out.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The English course was a lot of fun thanks to the great teachers and my English has definitely improved a lot. I am glad I chose EC English!
Accommodation
The host parents showed us and offered us a lot of Boston during the 2 weeks. We went to several concerts, a polo match, etc. The host father took great care of us. The host mother prepared dinner for us almost every evening, although it was far too hot outside for her (often around 40 degrees C). We felt very welcome.
