You have to talk in French to learn it. It is the best way!
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
For older people: avoid the summer season because the average age of students in that period is about 20 years old.
Quality of teaching / language progress
There was no coffee, because the machine did not accept cash and a bank card. Only a credit card. At home when I checked my bankaccount the money was written off. So very strange, fortunately it was only a couple of euros.
Accommodation
A very nice lady and here daughter.

I'd recommend Euro centres.
City/place
A beautiful town I'd like to return to. I didn't use the public transport and didn't really notice the shopping. I don't think there was much nightlife, but I was never out at night.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I generally enjoyed my time at the school in Amoboise. I liked the teachers and the school and would definitely consider returning for more study. I am now more aware of my weaknesses and intend to change my own study to improve, in particular, my listening to French. There were a few minor negatives which I have listed below. I found it difficult to understand what was being said much of the time and had to rely on body language and my common sense to understand just about enough. Maybe I should have been in a less advanced class (had there been one available) where the speech was slowed down ? A few of the lessons involved too many people (two classes together). This meant that each student had very little involvement. I wouldn’t do the intensive 25 again. I felt I needed a break after the normal 4 hour day.
Accommodation
I stayed with a very nice family in their beautiful house with large garden. The reason I gave only 4 stars for room is because an en-suit room would have been better.

Positive aspects of school
I like the atmosphere with young university students on scholarship and the teachers were very helpful. There was a lot of interaction during group work and although I am an older student I believe I got on well with students and teachers.
Other comments
It would have been helpful to have a timetable of the course before coming from Australia. This would have assisted me to prepare better for the course while in Australia. I was not sure when classes were going to take place and there were changes to the timetable caused by a road race through the streets of Amboise. Other than the teachers, I had little contact with other members of the school. The Director gave an interesting introduction to all the students and a tour of the city which was most helpful.
