Positive aspects of school
I liked the friendly atmosphere and Irma's calm and friendly attitude. The school was part of a functioning hostel/B&B. They also have an art gallery in the front. Family and staff were sometimes around, but it did not hinder my conversations in the beautiful courtyard outside, next to the Koi fish pond. You could end up with a different teacher in a different home, but just enjoy the cultural experience! Irma was my professor. She was flexible in offering to do the activities that I wanted to do - whether it was to do grammar lessons, discussion or writing and corrections. It was neat that I was allowed to also suggest discussion topics or things I wanted to learn about Cuba. They helped me plan some excursions too and offered me a coffee each morning during the break! I did the horseback ride to the nearby waterfalls and loved it! When I went, there was just one other student, but it didn't matter - even though I had signed up for private lessons.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Bring your own paper and pens. Come with an open mind and expect lessons to be all in Spanish. Don't be afraid of making mistakes!
Other comments
I booked my own accomodation and planned to stay two blocks away so it was very easy for me.

Too bad there was not more cohesion in the group of students for evening and weekend activities.
