Location: ATC Language Schools Dublin is located in the unique and friendly Irish capital city of Dublin. Junior students can obtain Summer courses within such facilities as the University College Dublin, Trinity Hall Campus, Maynooth University, Blackrock College and Rathdown School. Adults have everything from General English programmes, taught over various schedules and intensities, to Exam Preparation programmes in IELTS, FCE and CAE exams. Teacher Training programmes and Private Tuition are also available.

Students joining ATC’s General English language course will learn English in an international class with students from around the world. The course is designed to focus on communication and improve the students’ understanding of the four key skills of English language focusing on communication; listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as developing grammar and vocabulary skills. Students can begin each Monday through the year on a continuous enrolment system.
All levels of English from Elementary to Advanced are offered throughout the year. Students can choose to study for a minimum of 1 week.
ATC’s General English course syllabus is 20 hours per week, with full 60 minute lessons. By the end of the course students will see an overall improvement in their level of English and improved confidence in their language ability.

Students can study and prepare for the Cambridge B2 First Exam with ATC Language Schools. The Cambridge English Qualifications are recognised worldwide by governments, employers, universities and colleges. The exam focuses on the 4 key skills of English, reading, writing, listening and speaking.
ATC’s Cambridge exam preparation course for the B2 First exam is 9 or 12 weeks long. The timetable includes 20 hours of lessons per week. The full course will develop the skills students will use during the exam, enhance students’ comprehension and fluency of using English language, and allow them to practice the exam techniques required.
Each Cambridge B2 First exam preparation course is planned to align with an exam offered locally - ATC can arrange the exam additionally to the course.

For all teachers to develop their English and explore Irish culture and heritage.
This course aims to help teachers develop their communicative competence in English, while learning about Irish culture and heritage. The course content introduces teachers to a variety of themes in Irish culture (both historical and contemporary culture).
Teachers will explore who the Irish are; looking at their literature, folklore, music and dance. Teachers will learn about important social and political landmarks in Irish history and the road to Irish independence. Teachers will also look at emigration and the Irish diaspora, meeting some of Ireland’s most famous (and infamous) emigrants, and will examine the huge cultural and social changes Ireland has experienced in the 21st century.
The aim of this course is to help teachers:
- Develop their communicative competence in English with a particular focus on the interactive skills of speaking and listening.
- Provide teachers with a broad overview of traditional Irish cultural heritage.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force, mimicking human intelligence and significantly impacting various disciplines, including Language Teaching. As AI becomes increasingly prevalent in educational settings, language teachers must enhance their AI literacy skills to harness its benefits effectively.
The aim of this course is to:
- Equip language teachers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to integrate AI effectively into their lessons, fostering a dynamic and technologically advanced language learning environment.
Throughout the course, participants engage in hands-on activities, collaborative discussions, and reflective exercises to reinforce their learning. Participants also carry out practical work to plan, create and teach a lesson using AI and other interactive resources, and will finish the course with a digital portfolio of resources. Participants can take the opportunity to join ATC’s Teachers Forum where they can access continued support and sharing of best practice after the course has finished.

ATC’s Preparatory Certificate in English Language Teaching (ELT) is a short course preparing Irish state-qualified teachers and trainee teachers to teach international students on short English language programmes in Ireland, over the summer months.
This course will help teachers develop their own knowledge of the English language system and gain insight into the theories of language learning and language teaching. The course will look at a framework for understanding the different levels of language skills and competencies of learners. It will explore methodologies and techniques for teaching English as a foreign language to secondary-level students at different levels and will help teachers create and source fun and engaging materials for use in the classroom. The program also prepares teachers who may have to teach part or all of their courses online.

ATC’s Refresher Course for Language Teachers is a practical course that explores ideas, techniques and resources for language teaching and learning, where the primary focus is on the development of the students’ communicative competence.
Teachers look at ideas for designing engaging, collaborative real-world tasks to help develop the students’ communicative competence across all language skills, and deepen their knowledge of the target language system.
Students will explore the task-based method that underpins this approach and look at a framework for developing task-based lessons. Teachers will develop lessons and teaching materials appropriate to their teaching context.
The course also introduces teachers to a range of digital resources to support students in independent study, and becoming lifelong language learners.
