Student opinions about International House, Mexico City

Verified reviews only, uncensored. All student opinions from students who booked a course at the school with LanguageCourse.net.
Liked
I took 2 weeks of intensive group lessons as well as additional private lessons. The organisation was excellent, all the staff were always available and helpful with any questions. The teachers were excellent, catering to individual interests and incorporating these topics into the lessons, so that in addition to the language, a lot of Mexican history and social and societal topics were also taught. Learning was fun. The central location of the school is excellent.
Disliked
There's really nothing to mention, the 25-minute break at lunchtime could perhaps have been a little longer, but that's a luxury problem :-)

The staff were all very wonderful- patient, warm, understanding. Our tours and outings were among the best parts of my trip. I would certainly suggest adding a regular trip to Mercado Jamaica to the outings offered by the school.
Disliked
I personally would have liked some more specific language instruction - drilling on the various verb tenses, for example. And though I signed up for a cooking class, the Mexico City location had no kitchen. So the staff did a great job organizing market trips (which were AMAZING) and we talked about food, but I never got to make any myself. Oh, and make the lunch break an hour - start class at 9:30 if you have to, but 30 minutes was really too short a lunch break.

Although I joined only for a week, I feel like I made great progress. The teachers and staff were all helpful, friendly, and competent. I would definitely pick IH again and hope to take more courses in the future.
Disliked
Our classroom (the former garage?) was not very soundproof and the traffic on the road and construction sites were at times a little loud and distracting.

Lessons (2 hours of private lessons and 4 hours of group lessons daily) were excellent, friendliness of ALL teachers and staff exceptional.

It is a relatively old, poorly insulated building. Due to the cold nights, it was therefore very cold in the classrooms every morning. The classrooms were somewhat neglected.
