Intensive 20 (maximum 10 students per group) and Conversation 10 (maximum 6 students per group).
Learn Spanish in a fun and stimulating small-group environment. The intensive group courses are for people who want to study Spanish, experience local culture, and meet new people from across the world.
The intensive Spanish courses are taught in small groups, with students who have the same language proficiency as you. You will work on all aspects of the language: conversation, grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, and writing. Courses have a communicative character and are designed to improve accuracy and fluency. They increase your confidence and prepare you for speaking Spanish in real world situations. Classes generally take place during the morning. Depending on the season and destination, classes can also be in the afternoon.
The Intensive 30 increases your classroom time by offering 6 group lessons per day from Monday to Friday. It is just like the intensive 20, but has 2 extra small-group lessons on every day. These extra group lessons are generally taught in even smaller groups and focus on conversation, improving your fluency and communication.
As the extra lessons are focused mainly on conversation, the Intensive 30 requires you to start with a lower elementary level of Spanish. If you are an absolute beginner and want a more intense course the school recommends that you choose any of the combination courses.

These courses are for students who want to intensify and personalise their Spanish learning experience. They mix the personal attention of private lessons with the lively dynamic and international vibe of group lessons.
Small-group lessons provide opportunity to converse with other students and learn in a fun, stimulating environment. You can decide the subject for the individual classes. For example, you may choose to emphasise Spanish use in a business or medical environment. Or you can choose to focus on grammar, fluency, or any area in which you are weaker.
As the individual classes are adjusted to your wishes and capacity, following this course will make you learn Spanish faster. Most classes generally take place in the morning. Depending on the season and destination, classes can also be in the afternoon.

This course is perfect if you want to learn Spanish quickly, especially if there is a specific reason you are learning Spanish; such as business, medical, or professional reasons. While group lessons provide a backbone to your learning, private lessons focus on what’s most important to you. If you have limited time available and want to make the most out of your stay, this is your course.

With all the shared apartments you experience life in a local city neighbourhood. Apartments are always a comfortable distance from the school and are well situated for exploring the rest of the city. Sharing with other language students and sometimes with locals means you can converse in Spanish outside the classroom.
This accommodation option provides complete independence. The kitchen, bathroom and living area are shared, while you have the privacy of your own bedroom. These apartments also offer a good value place to stay while being immersed in the Spanish or Latin American way of life. This is a great option for those looking for the opportunity to live with a variety of people from very different cultures and backgrounds. While the shared apartments have a regular cleaning service of the common areas, students are expected to take care of the day-to-day cleaning, such as washing the dishes, taking out the rubbish, etc.
These fully equipped apartments are generally shared with an average of 2 to 5 locals and/or language school students (varies per location). You will have your own room which includes all of the standard necessities: single or double bed, wardrobe, table and chair, etc. The living room, kitchen and bathroom are shared with your housemates.

Questions and answers about Linguaschools
- I'm currently in the group course Level A2.2. Is there a final test at the end of the course?“At the end of each level, the student takes a short exam (written + oral). The whole group takes the exam, so we recommend doing it as it shows the student how far they have come etc.
”Laura, Booking Office from - Mar 23, 2022 - Does this school offer activities?“Linguaschools offers weekly activities and weekend excursions, all year round. Activities vary per week and are communicated to you at the school. Some activities are free of charge. For other activities a small fee is charged to cover costs such as transport, museum entrance, etc. The activities and excursions on our website are merely an indication of the things we regularly offer. In most schools we create the activity programme only one week in advance, so we cannot say with certainty what activities will be running when you are at the school. Activities might require a minimum number of students.”Ángel Marcos Portoles, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 08, 2022
- Is it possible to book the homestay without meals (room only)?“We don’t offer accommodation in host family with room only. The minimum is with breakfast.”Janine, Coordinator from Linguaschools, Barcelona - Nov 15, 2022
- I am looking for a way to get my language level officially recognised. Now of course there is DELE, but my institution also gave two other options:
(b) Certificado oficial de nivel avanzado (nivel B2) de español para extranjeros, expedido conforme a lo previsto en el artículo 61 de la Ley Orgánica 2/2006, de 3 de mayo, de Educación, por las Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas.
(c) Certificado de Aptitud en español para extranjeros expedido por las Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas.
Do you know what kind of certificates these are and the procedure to obtain them?“The DELE exam is the official exam taken through the Instituto Cervantes. Students have to apply for this exam themselves through the Cervantes website. It can be taken in Spain and around the world. It is an internationally recognised exam that costs between 130-200 euros depending on the level. It usually takes about 2-3 months to get the results for this exam and the registration period is usually 6-8 weeks before the exam date.
For the second option, I am not sure if we would count or not - there are schools called 'Escuela Oficial de Idiomas' where you can take a course and therefore receive a certificate at the end. We are an Instituto Cervantes-approved school, but we are not the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas. So in this case, students should double-check whether a B2 certificate from a Cervantes-accredited private language school would suffice.”Janine, Administration from Linguaschools, Barcelona - Mar 16, 2023 - Will a certificate of attendance be issued at the end of the course?“At the end of the course, the students will receive the certificate end of the course if they have 80% attendance.”Zou, Administration from Linguaschools, Barcelona - Aug 17, 2023
FAQ about Linguaschools,
- Are there any classes on the bank holiday?“Lessons are in general from Monday to Friday. We are closed during weekends and bank holidays. We would recuperate 50% of the group classes and all of the private classes.”Janine, Administration from Linguaschools Barcelona - Jul 04, 2022
- I can only follow lessons with a morning schedule. How can I know if it will be confirmed before registering?“The timetable of each course is always noted in the comments inside the course section.
If you select a course where there are morning/afternoon time slots, that is because there are classes on both slots.
If the timetable of the course you want does not suit your needs, let us know as sometimes we can organised personalised packages!”Antonio, Area Manager Italian from Linguaschools - Aug 03, 2022 - When should I book leisure programmes and excursions from the school?“The list of current leisure programmes for the week is announced every Monday morning. You will be given a detailed description of each activity and told by what day and time you need to sign up. You can book and pay for the activities at the school's secretariat. Some excursions require a minimum number of participants and will be finalised once there is a group.”Maksym Sterpul, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 03, 2023
- I would like to join an intensive 20 course, but I can only join in the morning class. However, I read that the schedule is made on the first day. Would it be possible to guarantee the morning class before I sign up?“Classes can be in the mornings or afternoons as it depends on the number of groups, level of the student etc.
If a student has a very concrete reason why they can only attend morning or afternoon classes; for example they are working or they are studying, they can send us a document to prove this (from the employer or the university for example) and then we can give that student priority over others.
But I cannot say 100% without fail they will have morning classes.”Janine, Administration from Linguaschools - Aug 01, 2023 - I'm a complete beginner, and I know nothing about Spanish. I'm even scared to think about the effect of immersion in a foreign communication environment. How can I learn a foreign language like this while in another country?“You need to attend group classes and conversation clubs as often as possible! The more classes you attend, the more actively you participate, and the faster you will develop the skill of correct language proficiency!”Maksym Sterpul, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Oct 31, 2023
