Bordeaux ratings & opinions
How our students rated their experience in Bordeaux
What our students said about Bordeaux
Beautiful, elegant and charming city. Felt very safe and enjoyed exploring the city and nearby beaches. Would be nice to have the option to get the bus to Arcachon. Bordeaux is a great place to visit. However, it could do with more visible and thorough acknowledgement of the part it, and its citizens, took in the horrific kidnapping, raping, torture, murder and exploitation of the people it enslaved in Africa and Haiti. Questions were asked in our class about why monuments to people involved in the slave trade continue to stand.

Bordeaux is a very good city to travel to, it offers a lot of activities and there are many places nearby to visit. Unfortunately when I was there it was very hot and it was difficult to do things during the day because it was very oppressive together with the humidity. Still the experience was very positive.
Spain
Bordeaux has atmosphere! I really liked it all round: the city centre with its many squares, the beautiful architecture, the many cafés and restaurants that are always busy, the lively hustle and bustle along the Garonne.
Germany
Public transport great, not expensive, beautiful city with many historical sights, many old buildings. The restaurants are expensive, like everywhere else in France... I would go there again, it's worth it!
Germany
Lot more relaxed than Paris. Locals easy to get in touch with. Would recommend to attend to the BlaBla language exchange twice a week for practicing and meeting locals
Norway
Very pleasant, nice, helpful townspeople, easy to communicate with. Beautiful, and quite clean city. The public transport is very well organised.
Austria
Bordeaux is a very beautiful and very lively city. It has a huge number of terraces to have a drink and the people are generally friendly.
Spain
Super city. Big but very manageable with cute boutiques and bakeries. Lots of greenery in the city and lots of cycling.
Switzerland
It was an interesting stay and I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't do another language course there.
Switzerland
The best city in France, so pretty and welcoming. There is something for everyone!
England UK
Very beautiful city, but with many mosquitoes.
Germany
A nice little town, unfortunately few sights.
Austria

The location is great. There are shopping facilities nearby for the lunch break. The teachers are very nice and committed.
The equipment is rather poor, the rooms are in need of renovation. There was no copy paper at all, everything via teams: be sure to bring your laptop/tablet, with a mobile phone it was a disaster.

Q&A - Questions and answers about Bordeaux
- Will you receive a recognised certificate at the end of the course?“At the end of the courses, you always receive a certificate of attendance. An official certificate sounds more like a DELF or DALF certificate, but you have to take an exam for that too and we recommend exam preparation for that. Is that what you are looking for? It depends entirely on what you need it for. If you need a DELF or DALF certificate (usually employers specify this themselves), let me know and I will look for you. ”Robin Rebecca Pietersma, LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 31, 2023I am looking for a language course in Bordeaux for 14 year old students. Are there any options for starting the course from mid-August?“Newdeal's junior programmes for 12-15 year old students run from mid-July to early August. Exact course dates can be found on the website. Students aged 16 and over will be accepted for the group programmes from mid-August.
I would like to introduce you to a programme where teenagers are always welcome, because it's right at the teacher's home with private lessons!
