What students liked about Accord French Language School, Paris
I stayed on my own and took the metro so I really cannot evaluate the social activities or accommodations. I was extremely pleased with the quality of instruction especially by my regular professor Andrea and the cultural class instructor Liliane. I love the location and the lovely building which was very comfortable in every way. I was pleased with the process used to place me and it turned out to be just perfect for me. All of the staff were communicative and courteous.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss: Take the metro anywhere after class! I recommend seeing the 14 arrondissment which is a neighborhood where you can use your French. It's not touristy.
Other comments: This was a wonderful experience and I felt very happy with the group of people with whom I studied and our excellent instructor Andrea. I would return!
I really liked that the teacher didn't speak English at ALL. I was only there for a week but I still learned A LOT. I cant imagine how well speaking in french you must get after being there for three months! Teachers were really nice and you get to know people in your class that you can hang out with after school. I didn't rate social activities because there were none.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss: Remember to bring a book and a pen..! Also, eat breakfast because there wont be time for that in the only 20-minutes long break.
I loved Valerie, the beginner instructor. When I switched to the next level, the instructor had far less experience as a teacher and was not engaging. As an educator myself, I suggest that Valerie be made head of the department of teaching and teach other teachers how to teach and breakdown information. My next week was not as effective as the first two weeks with Valerie.

Other comments: The staff is friendly and helped me with printing and accommodations. They should expand the wifi past the cafeteria.
The teaching was EXCELLENT...and I'm a teacher-trainer for second-language teachers. These teachers just did a really super job. The classes were smaller than advertised, which shows that the school is willing to run small classes if necessary rather than shoehorning students into wherever there's space. There was a good mix of nationalities in the classes, too.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss: This school has NO registration fee, which will save you €50-€85, so that's important for short-term students to know. Important tip for the coffee machine in the cafeteria: first put in money, then choose how much sugar, and only then choose the type of drink you want. Otherwise you'll get "medium sugar" in everything! If you are in the market for souvenirs, there's an "overstock store" down the road that has a supply. Also, there's a theater next door that has a really funny show, all in English.
Other comments: I was only there for 1 week, and I'm very low level, but everyone was as kind and helpful as if I'd signed up for a year! All of these intensive courses are expensive, however...probably best for either tourists or prospective university students who need to learn French ASAP.
The small class sizes and quality of the teaching. The welcome from everyone at the school. The location is also very good. It was my third time at the school and I intend to return next year.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss: Great places to have coffee/snacks nearby. Very close to metro station.
Other comments: I really enjoyed the afternoon workshop which was different to the morning class. I met some lovely people there who were of different nationalities and we have kept in touch. It was a very fulfilling and enjoyable week.
