Student opinions about ACE English Malta, St. Julians

Liked
Nice school, right in the Bay Street shopping centre. Bright classrooms, but also quite cold air-conditioning. It is a pity that there is no library, only a few desks. There were no PCs. The business course was good, but as always, it's up to you to catch up on what you've learned. It is certainly particularly effective to do this over 3 to 6 months. But 300 euros per week is a lot. Great excursions and a very friendly organisational team. Many thanks to Marie, Omar and the rest! It was a great time.

No one explained how language proficiency assessment works, first week they gave me the wrong level, after that I had to ask to change level to higher one. There are different levels of preparation, but on this I would say I was lucky.

Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 14, 2022
  • The ACE Group 20 course has three different groups:

    - Morning: 8:00 - 9:30, break, 9:45 - 11:15.

    - Early afternoon: 11:45 - 13:15, break, 13:30 - 15:00

    - Late afternoon: 15:30 - 17:00, break, 17:30 - 18:45

You will be assigned based on your language level on the first day of the course and the results of the language test you take online.
Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 14, 2022
  • The Sunday before and the Sunday after book flights to and from Malta. If you like, the school can also arrange for him to be picked up from the airport and dropped off at the accommodation (see costs in the calculator).

At least one week before the start of the course, he will receive his accommodation details and will be asked to contact the hosts. Where he can pick up the keys to the accommodation he will also know and can coordinate with the hosts themselves. Sometimes even the driver has the keys, which is very practical.

And then on the first day of the course he will be assigned according to his level. It is important that if he feels that his class is too easy/too difficult, he indicates this immediately. Then we can immediately assess this with the school to see if he might fit better in a class higher or lower.

The same goes for accommodation: in the exceptional case he really doesn't feel comfortable, always indicate this immediately so we can look for a solution.

Other than that, it is just attending classes. Often the school also offers some extra activities in addition to classes so that students make new friends, but he can also look for activities on his own through www.MeetUp.com for example.

Does this provide some clarification? Let me know if there are more questions.
Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Dec 07, 2022
  • The ACE English school in St Julians would be good choice. They offer standard English courses (ACE Group 20) in the mornings and afternoons as well. It is possible to request different timetables, however availability should be checked with the school prior to the booking. Once availability is confirmed please mention this request on the registration form that you can complete through our website.
Angela Ligartova, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 17, 2023
  • The classes will definitely help you overcome the language barrier. We use a practice-oriented methodology that develops communication skills in real-life situations. This is achieved through special forms of learning: pair and group work, role-playing games and competitions, discussions of actual life situations, videos, stories, and a conversation club with a native speaker.
Maksym Sterpul, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 12, 2023

  • The juniors can book courses only if they don't want accommodation. Activities may take place and if so they are booked on site.
Adelia Mubarakshina , Sales from ACE English Malta - Jan 23, 2024
  • We try to place families at the same timetable if we have available level for adults at the same time. If there's no available level for the adults they might need to join a lower or a bit higher level to be able to finish at the same time as the child. 95% of cases children and adults study at the same time in the right level group.
