How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school
Location: Colombia was the first city in America to be named by Christopher Columbus and it is the capital city of the State of South Carolina. Agape English Language school is situated in downtown Colombia, very close to the University of South Carolina and not far from the social district of 5 Points.
Getting around: It is centrally located within the city and has good transport connections close by to the South Carolina State Museum, the Columbia Museum of Art and Riverbanks Zoo & Garden. Colombia has a subtropical climate, with warm winters and blazing summers, and the surrounding area has interesting vegetation as the River Congaree runs through the State. Escape from the city for a day and visit the Congaree National park, where during late May and early June you can see glow worms light up the skies.
Course structure: Agape English Language Institute has 1 full time programme and 2 part-time programmes. These are designed in modules of 9 weeks and have 5 specific start dates per year. It is also possible to take the module for a minimum of 5 weeks.
Teaching style: For optimal learning, it is important that the student be placed in the correct level and there are 3 placement tests that each student takes before being assigned to their class.
Course content: The lesson content is designed around and incorporates the preparation for the TOEFL exam.
School extras: Agape English Language Institute has an excellent academic counseling team, who are dedicated to helping their students choose, apply and transfer to a University to further their education. They also help students apply for an English Exam such as TOEFL, iBT or IELTS. The school appreciates the importance of social interaction and organises activities to sporting events, beaches, mountains, University tours and historical tours of the surrounding area.

Full-time study is 3 classes every day. This is 21 hours each week for each 9 week-session.

Students start in the level they test into when they begin at Agape. At the end of the 9-week session, students must have an average class grade of 70% or higher to advance to the next level in any particular class. Students can continue their studies until they have reached the level they desire. Upon completion of their studies, students receive a certificate to show the highest levels they completed.
Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.
