Venue: Ailola Spanish School is located in the centre of Quito, just a short walk from the major historic attractions of the city. Quito’s main cathedrals and the Plaza Grande are only about 10 minutes away on foot. The neighbourhood around Ailola Quito Spanish School has many shops, and places to eat along its cobblestone streets. The nearest subway station is Alameda, though buses also travel directly through the historic centre, and it is easy to get to and from the school on public transport. Students can also consider renting a bicycle and travel along Quito’s large network of bike lanes to get to class or visit other areas.

Experience: Ailola Quito has been teaching Spanish for over 30 years, opening their doors in 1988. As a school they have been growing, adding more courses to their catalogue while fine tuning others. Students can opt for group lessons, private lessons, a combination of group and private lessons, Spanish for specific fields such as Business or Medical, or DELE Exam preparation classes.

Extras: Ailola Quito’s travelling classroom programme adds another level to the study options they offer. Students can take their Spanish studies to other locations in Ecuador, from the Andes to the Amazon and even on to the Galapagos Islands.

I liked it that the teachers are very experienced, had great examples and explanations of the grammars as well as offered enough practice opportunities. They're also flexible to reschedule my classes when I couldn't go for one day. I especially like the activities in the afternoon, basically free of charge (except for entrance tickets & bus) which is definitely the cherry on top. I had great times with other fellow students.
Disliked
Nothing.
Insider tip: I was able to continue the learning online which is great!

I felt there were no weaknesses with the school.
Insider tip: Try a few tours with one of the professors to get real world practice.

Quality of teaching / language progress: When my level was determined to be higher than the group, they adjusted me to private lessons to optimize my learning.

Four hours in the morning is a very long period, and options for afternoon classes would have been nice.
