Location: Anglophiles Summer School London is a junior summer school located in the culturally rich, buzzing city of London, England. The programme and lesson plan take place outside during day trips and excursions. Students are located in a local hostel, along with school staff, where they will get the opportunity to enjoy interactions and new friendships with their peers. There will be transport links, amenities, restaurants and eateries nearby.
Course selection: The Magical London programme is fascinating to junior students. It is full of interactive English lessons, travels around the city to many of London's most well-known and popular sites, activities and all-round practice of English. The course includes accommodation, meals, around 20 English lessons per week and, as mentioned, activities and excursions. The Magical London programme is available to students aged 14-17.
Accommodation: Accommodation is full-board and various room types are a possibility. The school's selection of hostel generally determines the room circumstances accordingly.
Social and cultural: The programmes available at Anglophiles Summer School London are full of activities and excursions for the junior students to enjoy whilst getting to know their peers and practise their English. Activities in the programme can include trips to Arsenal's E¡mirates Stadium, South Bank, Brixton, Covent Garden, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and much, much more.
Airport transfers: Airport transfers are readily available to and from the selected youth hostel. Additional charges may apply.
English Courses
The accommodation will be in a good quality youth hostel, close to transport links. Breakfast will be taken either in the youth hostel or in a restaurant close by. Lunch will be a picnic and the evening meal will be taken in restaurants or fast food establishments.
PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES
Day 1: Arrive in London. Transfer to the youth hostel, with time to settle in. Depart for a walk around Camden Town and enjoy a typical English dinner of fish & chips. Plus a short nighttime tour of Camden Town Market.
Day 2: First morning of visit to the British Museum. Afternoon, explore Brick Lane and its various markets. Plus a walking tour of London tourist sites: Tower of London, Buckingham Palace.
Day 3: Morning: Visit the Museum of London. Afternoon, a visit to the Millennium Bridge and Tate Modern . Plus a short nighttime walk in China Town, a town in its own right in the middle of London and Soho.
Day 4: Morning: Visit London’s famous Spitalfields Market. Afternoon, visit to Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, a vibrant part of London.
Day 5: Morning: Visit the Olympic park and Arcelor Mittal Orbit. Afternoon, visit the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London and a tour of Tower Bridge. Enjoy an evening of bowling in Brick Lane.
Day 6: Morning : See the Queen’s Gallery and Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace and head to Westminster Abbey. Afternoon, enjoy a show at the IMAX Cinema in the Science Museum. In the evening, enjoy an escape room game.
Day 7: Morning : take the Hop-on/hop-off Tour Bus and visit Kensington Palace. In the afternoon, a visit to the London Zoo.
Day 8 : Morning : Visit Saint Paul’s Cathedral and enjoy a pub lunch. Afternoon, visit the London Transport Museum and Covent Garden. In the evening, enjoy the view from the Shard (London’s highest viewing Tower).
Day 9 : Morning : Explore Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium. Afternoon, travel through the history of the famous bridge in the London Bridge Experience. In the evening, enjoy ice-skating in Queensway.
Day 10 : In the morning, visit London’s Natural History Museum and enjoy an afternoon of sports in Hyde park.
Day 11 : In the morning, enjoy shopping in South Bank. In the afternoon, visit Brixtonand and its markets.
Day 12 : Transfer to the airport for the return journey home.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE LESSONS:
The lessons are interactive. The teacher will go with the group on the visits and work with the students on their English through activities, games, etc.
