Local attractions: Just down the road from the school is the Australian Fair Shopping Centre, which boasts a wide variety of shops, endless food options and a cinema for those who want to enjoy a film in the evening. There is plenty to keep students busy in this borough, with an excellent Aboriginal Art Gallery who work with the aboriginal painters to help display their pieces, Anzac Park and The Rockpools which merge from Broadwater parklands and Southport reserve for some hikes in wildlife. Australia is famous for its beaches and Southport main beach does not disappoint.

Beach life: The beach stretches all the way along the coast of the city, intersecting with surfers paradise for any students who would like to take up or improve upon this adrenaline filled sport. If surfing is not your thing, then why not try a day of snorkeling or diving in Southport's seaway which has been described as the best shorewater location for diving in Queensland. In general, by public transport, it takes around 30 minutes from Australian International College of Language to the main city centre of the Gold Coast, with the main attraction being the beautiful beaches.

AICOL will its best to find a homestay family and to match students with their preferred family choice, but it cannot guarantee this can always be done. Homestay availability is not guaranteed and depends on circumstances existing at the time the request is received.
If a student is not happy with their homestay family AICOL will do its best to change the family as soon as possible, but it may not always be possible. In such cases one week’s notice must be given to the homestay to terminate the homestay or one week’s homestay fees in lieu of notice must be paid to the homestay family. Of course there are sometimes exceptional circumstances.
No guarantee is given for single placement homestay. AICOL will do its best to meet the request that no other international student who speaks the same language is in the homestay, but it is not guaranteed.
AICOL homestay families all have police card clearances, and are inspected and interviewed by AICOL staff. They must be caring and welcoming families.
