This course is for students accepted on a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. CELOP has prepared students admitted to the following MBA programs: Boston University, Harvard University, MIT, Northeastern University, Babson College, and others, as well as for students interested in applying to an MBA programme.
The 4-week programme mirrors the type of academic setting and learning intensity that students will need to perform at during their MBA studies. As such, the curriculum includes extensive work to familiarise students with preparing case discussions and working in a group to complete various aspects of a team project, including a final presentation that will be evaluated on a variety of factors.
This programme is designed to prepare students for success in the Master’s in Hospitality Management (MMH) programme at Boston University’s School of Hospitality (SHA) and beyond in their careers. A collaboration between CELOP and SHA, the programme meets the needs of students who want to practice and improve academic and English language skills needed for success in completing graduate level work in the MMH programme in the Fall.
The programme will provide students with exposure to coursework found in the MMH programme and first-hand training in communication skills for hospitality and tourism. Students will gain familiarity with key concepts for successful graduate level study such as active learning, preparation of case studies, participation in discussions and giving effective presentations.
This course is for students interested in developing English language skills for business and entrepreneurship, and students who want to experience the innovative start-up environment of Boston.
Visit Boston-area innovation centers like the Cambridge Innovation Center, Boston University’s BUild Lab, District Hall, etc.
Learn from expert guest speakers including real-life entrepreneurs connected to innovative businesses, and professors from BU’s Questrom School of Business, and develop language skills to present a 1-minute elevator pitch for a new product or service.

The programme will provide students with foundational knowledge of US Law and hands-on training in legal English communication skills.
Students will gain familiarity with US legal discourse and methodology, learn legal terminology and vocabulary and enhance their skills at communicating legal concepts in English, both orally and in writing. By the end of the programme, students will have a more nuanced appreciation of US legal culture and the distinguishing characteristics of legal practice in America.
