The B2 first for schools (previously FCE for schools) is a 4-week summer academic course designed for school-age learners rather than adults. The course has a specific start and finish date so that students can take the final examination at the end of the course. The course timetable is designed to match with the Summer Vacation schedule so that all students participating on this course can experience the junior vacation activities with other international students. Students may alternate between schedules A (morning lessons/afternoon activities) and B (afternoon lessons/morning activities) each week.
On the last Saturday students must take the examination instead of participating on the full day excursion. A BLC activity leader will bring all B2 First students to the examination centre. After taking the examination, students who have passed are sent a final Cambridge accredited examination certificate.
B2 First for Schools qualification shows that students can:
- communicate effectively face to face, expressing opinions and presenting arguments
- write clear, detailed English, expressing opinions and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different points of view
- follow the news
- write letters, reports, stories and lots of other types of text
The Examination: - The written and listening exams are in the morning. The candidates will then break for lunch and the oral examination is in the afternoon.
- N.B. Exam fee is not included in the course price.
In addition to the classes, activity programme and accommodations with full board, the price includes a bus pass and course materials.

The football programme is designed around a 2-week course to help players develop essential communication skills both on and off the field in an authentic football environment. The course is available for boys and girls aged 12-17 years old. The program focuses on a wide range of skills, drills, and tactics while the aim is to challenge the techniques essential to a player’s development.
In addition, there are two STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) seminars which blend football and robotics to create fun, interactive sessions. Using educational devices such as Sphero Robots and GPS technology, players will get to explore the ways in which football and science work together.
All of the activities and coaching are conducted in English in a multinational environment meaning that students will primarily communicate in English throughout their stay. The course is a complete package with morning football sessions every day (Mon - Fri) which take place on the Community Pitch at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre in Lancing and 15 hours of English classes at BLCI (Mon - Fri).
All players receive the official training kit of AITC and will also have the opportunity to visit the American Express Community Stadium, home of Brighton and Hove Albion FC for a VIP tour.
Football training takes place at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, a new state-of-the-art facility that opened in September 2021 in addition to the Y-shaped building which accommodates the club’s professional and academy teams on separate wings. The new facility houses the women’s first-team, academy and staff, as well as providing a changing facility for Albion in the Community’s community pitch.
Albion were awarded Category One status in July 2014, under the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan, which highlighted the club as one of the best in the country in terms of facilities, staff and opportunities for young players.
