The Caminhos Intensive Portuguese Group Course is the most popular choice for students who go to Caminhos. This course is a fun and interactive way to learn Portuguese in a relaxed group environment.

You will participate in 20 hours of intensive Portuguese language classes per week and can expect each day to be filled with a variety of reading, writing, listening and grammar activities, in which you will be stimulated and encouraged to practice your Portuguese. The teachers focus on speaking (the communicative approach) which comprises of role-playing, debates, analysing of film and video clip excerpts, and other interactive methods.

Course Description
The Latin Speakers Course is designed specifically for people from Latin countries who are fluent in Spanish and can already understand a bit of Portuguese. The school recognises the challenges of placing Spanish and/or Italian speakers in the same beginners level of Portuguese so they have a course specifically for them. The Latin Speakers Course starts students in a separate beginners course for 2 weeks and then integrates them into a level appropriate for them. The Latin Speakers Course focuses on the differences in grammar and conversation between Spanish/Italian and Portuguese.

Caminhos Portuguese Conversation Course is a language course entirely focused on improving your conversational skills.

The teacher will use a variety of methods to stimulate conversation including topical debates, music clips, and games.

The Conversation Course is suitable for students of all levels higher than the Beginners.

Caminhos Portuguese Conversation Course can also be taken in combination with the Caminhos Intensive Group Course or with Caminhos Private Classes.

Course Description
Now students can access Caminhos online through our ‘Online Portuguese Classes!’.

This means you can now learn Brazilian Portuguese from the privacy of your own home or workplace. All you need is internet access and a webcam. Our classes are taught by one of our qualified Brazilian teachers in a ‘virtual’ classroom setting. You will have access to different material and learning tools such as whiteboard, quality videos, and audio links.

Caminhos Online Portuguese classes are ideal for students who wish to study Portuguese before they arrive in Brazil or for students returning home and wishing to maintain their Portuguese fluency.

Course Description
Organised by the Ministry of Education (MEC), the Celpe-Bras exam is the only official proficiency certificate in Brazilian Portuguese as a foreign language that is recognized by the Brazilian government. The Celpe-Bras exam is made up of 4 parts – writing, reading, listening and speaking. Businesses and educational institutions worldwide use Celpe-Bras as a formal certification of a person’s level in the Portuguese language. It is also mandatory for international students in order to enroll in a Brazilian university. The 4 levels of certification are: Intermediate, Higher Intermediate, Advanced and Higher Advanced. The Celpe-Bras exam is held twice per year in April and October.

Caminhos Language Centre has teachers who are specifically trained to prepare students for the Celpe-Bras exam.

The teacher coordinator will create a personalized study plan (according to the timeframe) for the student in order to be prepared for one of the two exam dates.

Arpoador (which literally means the harpoon thrower) is famous to surf enthusiasts because of the WSL championship competition that is held there every year. It is also a popular local hangout spot for surfing Cariocas.

The surfing instructor will encourage students to speak Portuguese whilst they catch the waves, giving you the chance to practice the language in a completely different context.
