  • Average age of students is a bit higher than at most schools. Great for students 25 years or older.

Location: Centro de Idiomas Quorum is located in the resort town of Nerja, on the Costa Del Sol, Andalucia, Spain. The surrounding areas of the school are famed for their beautiful beaches, great food, cliffside caves and its Paleolithic cave paintings, which contain some of the earliest drawings known to man! The school is housed just off of the coast, within a 10-minute walk of many beautiful beaches, has an interior patio and studio accommodation available on its first floor. Further amenities such as restaurants, bars and supermarkets are all close by, ensuring students have all they need to feel comfortable during their time in Nerja. The Fundación Cueva Nerja is just a short bus ride away and the surrounding national parks of Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama give students a fantastic opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding areas.

School facilities: The facilities of the school offer everything a student may need to reach their language goals in a comfortable and communicative environment. These facilities include a library, movie room, games room, lounge area, garden, free after-class access to language learning software and a student support desk for any questions or queries that may arise. All classrooms are equipped with televisions, heating, and air conditioning.

Course selection: Course selection offers something suitable for the whole family, including Family programmes throughout the summer months and 50 Plus programmes for the more Senior students to enjoy. Centro de Idiomas Quorum also offers DELE Exam Preparation programmes as well as Business, Conversation and Grammar specific courses.

“Private lessons were a good option for me. The teacher Pepe started on my level, as I wanted to learn the different verb tenses. This was not easy at all, but I got better and better at it and after this intense week I will reflect on and rehearse what I have learnt. I will probably come back after the holidays and might take 1 lesson per week if that is possible. Louise was informative and provided good service.”

“It was really cold in the classroom, I was freezing despite wearing several layers!! But then, I sat still for two consecutive hours so that did not help....when I left the school and set foot on the street it was like entering a sauna!”

“The first week we were with 3 students and the second week with four of us. And the teacher provided nice varied lessons.”

“That the conversation lessons could unfortunately not be given in the morning hours. Now in the middle of the day. And there was a student, who was much further along, he took care of a good part of the lesson. Speak to the teacher about it. The next day she took it into account.”

Quality of teaching / language progress: The person teaching / leading the class was very friendly, encouraging and gave us a lot of words and verbs that we could learn and use in class and outside. She also gave us a very good insight into the Spanish way of life and how the culture in Spain is quite different in some aspects compared to home in Ireland. The more I am away from the class the more I feel I learned.
Other comments I found them to be very professional in an informal and friendly manner from the Receptionist / Administrator to the two 'teachers' I interacted with.

“It may be 'in the small print' but I was annoyed that I had paid for 15 hours of teaching per week only to find that only 12 hours was offered in the first week because of a Spanish Bank Holiday. In my view that is neither reasonable nor fair. it is a known event and fees should be reduced pro-rata.”

Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 35 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
