“They have very good teachers who are very good at teaching and language. I was lucky that two of the three teachers were a great fit. I felt very well integrated into the group. The group was very homogeneous in terms of learning and performance levels, and therefore the learning was optimal. The good teachers incorporated films, music, and images from the internet into the work. This worked wonderfully and was very helpful. They were very helpful with questions about my living situation and organized a one-day extension for me. That was very friendly and good.”
“Unfortunately, they also have really poorly trained teachers. The learning materials consisted only of photocopied sheets and not a complete volume like in Turin. What was missing was a list of the teaching materials used. Little homework was assigned, and the poor teacher sometimes assigned something and then didn't include it in the next lesson. Unlike in Turin, there was no group room – instead, we met in a cafe near the school. That was nice, too, but nowhere near as cohesive and cross-group as in Turin. What I found mediocre was the lack of organization at the school: there was no welcoming or farewell ceremony for new students. In Turin, we always met at the beginning and end of the week. There was a framework for starting, and a certificate was also presented when you left. This was left to the teachers, who didn't offer any framework for it either. I felt the collaboration between management and teaching staff was lacking.”
Insider tip: “The Teatro di Sole is an absolute must for students who already know a little more Italian.”

“I loved Centro Koine, and highly recommend it. I was able to build great relationships with both the teachers and the students as everyone was very friendly. The building was quaint and in a great location near San Stefano. As a beginner, I received a lot of time and attention, and feel like I learned as much as a could during my short 1-week stay with the school. Centro Koine does a great job at facilitating interactions among students and teachers in an informal setting, and I hope to visit the school again at some point to advance my Italian.”

“- great teachers: respond to each individual, motivate, encourage and gently encourage active participation and always have a smile on their faces - very entertaining lessons: topics from life, spontaneous topics, no stubborn treatment of book pages - the afternoon activities: very interesting and a great opportunity to get to know the other students better I'll definitely come back! :-)”
“The school can't do anything about that, I was probably just unlucky that during "my" language week, there were many other students there who had the same nationality and/or language. So the Dutch, the Americans, the French etc. got together and each spoke their “own” native language during the breaks. Feedback”

“Good teachers, pleasant school, good administration and organization. Super good location! After 2 hours of grammar, half an hour of drinking coffee together in a bar and then another 1.5 hours of vocabulary and conversation.”
“I expected more activities. Now it was 1 tour of 1.5 hours on Monday and a dinner on Thursday with 1 teacher each time. This was a lot of fun to do. So I would have liked more of it, especially if you're traveling alone. I did miss the cooking class, movie night, etc.”

On the last day, there was less enthusiasm to see both on the teacher`s but also on the participants`s side. Accommodation: 3.0
Location: 4.0
Room: 4.0
"The good thing was that it was almost a self-contained apartment with a bathroom and a private room. The kitchen was shared and well-equipped. However, the countertop and table space was so crowded that there was always something lying around or standing everywhere. Everything was clean, but it was an organized mess. The landlady was very friendly and helpful when asked. She sat in front of the very loud TV more or less all day because she was hard of hearing. When I asked something, she had to turn it off first to hear me. So there was little interaction. We both left each other alone. The beauty of the room, the very good furnishings, the good internet, and the fact that the room wasn't so cluttered with knick-knacks unfortunately suffered from the fact that you really couldn't open the window at night because the street noise was too loud. Overall, I'd say that in a situation like this, I would have almost preferred my own apartment with more peace and quiet – but I was also spoiled by Turin. I also had the impression that the lady was constantly taking in students—for the money?—and therefore wasn't willing or able to engage more intensively with the guests. Again, she was always friendly. There's no question about that.
